Trading Operational Services /Prime Brokerage is the leading provider of custodial, trading, technology, and practice management to registered independent advisory firms. We provide access to sophisticated wealth-management services that help advisors attract and retain affluent clients, as well as profitably grow, compete and succeed in their business efforts.

The Trading Operational Services team is a dedicated group of Specialists that support complex custody and clearance needs of independent investment advisory and money management firms. The team operates in a challenging environment collaborating with Advisors in processing all types of transactions to provide excellent client experience.

The Senior Manager – Trading Operations will lead a team of Operational Specialists focused on client relationships, institutional-level trading, Clearance and Settlement, regulatory and risk-based rules, and the personalized approach to service that Schwab is known for. 

Responsibilities include:

  • As a team manager, set the overall direction for the team regarding business results and client loyalty.
  • Develop team members through coaching, career planning, and mentoring.
  • Collaborate directly with clients and other business partners to identify business development opportunities, enhance our platform, and continuously improve the advisor’s experience.
  • Drive results while mitigating risk to firm through managing staff, workload, and achieving daily service levels.
  • Represent the Trading Operations organization on projects and initiatives impacting both clients and   employees.

What you have


To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

  • Step in/Step out experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • FINRA Series 7, 63, and 9/10 and 24 licenses are required.
  • Deep understanding of Prime Brokerage, Clearance and Settlements, Regulatory Rules and requirements of a broker dealer and General Back Office Operations.
  • Minimum of 10 years Equity, ETF, Option Fixed Income Operational Experience.
  • Minimum 10 years in Prime brokerage.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills demonstrated success leading to employee development.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Expert knowledge of brokerage/financial services industry, Equity/ETF/Option/Fixed Income investment products, capital markets, trading and back-office operations and technology that supports the business.
  • Expert knowledge of trading strategies and the various algorithms leveraged through trade order management systems.
  • Strong relationships, teamwork, and partnership skills with ability to evaluate opportunities and challenges from clients’ perspective.
  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
