Risk and Credit Loss Prevention (“RCLP”) team is responsible for monitoring accounts from a credit perspective to protect or mitigate the firm against risk. This team is comprised of experts in reviewing high risk deposits and client activity for Schwab Retail and Bank accounts.  We are also responsible for closing accounts with credit issues, or excessive deposit and check returns.

The Manager, Margin Services (Non-PL) will assist other managers with the day-to-day operations, help identify and manage risk to the firm and work directly with multiple internal and external business partners to resolve issues. This role will require excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with numerous business partners across the entire organization.

What you'll do:

  • Work as both an individual contributor and as part of a team, building trust with leaders to deepen your understanding of the organization
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations for fraud prevention strategies in line with Schwab’s risk appetite and policies
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the team
  • Ensure written procedures are maintained for all processes
  • Accept incoming calls and effectively resolve escalated client complaints
  • Coordinate system and process enhancements to ensure that appropriate procedures are updated
  • Prepare activity reports on a regular basis (monthly, quarterly, and annually)
  • Training and managing new team members

What you have


To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

  • Five plus years of brokerage industry experience
  • Financial fraud experience, including knowledge of consumer credit report review, and payment fraud prevention techniques are preferred
  • Series 7 and Series 63 licensed are required

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Trading experience preferred
  • Interested individuals should have a basic working knowledge of margin rules and formulas
  • Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
  • Excellent decision-making, communication, and leadership skills
  • Strong aptitude to maintain focus on key strategic priorities and act professionally when faced with ambiguous, tense, or stressful situations.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
