Digital Advice and Financial & Estate Planningdevelopsand operates Schwab’s most innovative client-facing products, with a primary focus on delivering exceptional client experiences and helping clients achieve their financial goals. We are seeking a motivated and technically strong team member to join our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, where you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of these critical platforms.
In this role, you will support several client-facing, high-visibility production applications by handling routine and non-routine operational tasks to ensure reliability and performance. You will monitor systems, troubleshoot incidents, and perform root cause analysis to drive timely resolution and prevent recurrence. You will ideate, innovate, and build automated solutions that reduce operational toil and improve system resiliency. Through a strong focus on automation, observability, and continuous improvement, you will help advance the team toward a more proactive and scalable SRE support model.
What you have

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field highly preferred
- 7+ years of proven experience in a Site Reliability Engineering or Production Support role, supporting client-facing, highly available platforms.
- 7+ years of demonstrated experience supporting systems within a regulated or enterprise financial services environment
- 7+ years of experience improving operational visibility through monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and metrics
- 7+ years of working knowledge of one or more programming languages such as C#, Python, Java, C++, or front-end technologies (Blazor/Razor, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap)
- 7+ years utilizing the following scripting languages (Powershell, Bash,Javascript)
- 5+ years utilizing Atlassian Products
- 5+ years utilizing Helix ITSM Products (Creating and running Changes, creating Incident tickets, creating and resolving Problem tickets)
- 5+ years of utilizing Splunk (creating/maintaining application monitors, dashboards)
- 5+ years of supporting applications hosted on Cloud Platforms (PCF, AWS, GCP)
- Google CloudPractitioner Certification
- 5+ years supporting Mongo, SQL and Postgres databases (querying, creating/running scripts, support)
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Copilot and its uses in software Development
- Strong skills inGithub
- Strong understanding of ThousandEyes tooling (create and manage scripts, troubleshoot issues, manage agents)
- Solid understanding of SRE principles, including reliability, scalability, observability, automation, and operational excellence
- Innovates solutions that strengthen incident response and mitigate outcomes
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to apply industry best practices to improve processes, procedures, and tooling
- Experience in collaborating across engineering, product, and partner teams to deliver reliable outcomes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical issues and solutions to diverse audiences
- Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently Proactive self-starter who is able to independently lead and drive work, influence, effectively - communicate and work in a fast-paced, rigorous environment
