Your Opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).

This is a high-impact leadership role for a strategic, action-oriented people leader who can move quickly from ambiguity to execution. The leader will guide a team of 3 high-performing Paperless product owners while driving enterprise-wide outbound paper reduction opportunities, influencing senior stakeholders, and accelerating progress against meaningful client experience, scale, and efficiency goals.

The Paperless Product Team resides within the Operational Services Group at Charles Schwab and is focused on maximizing paperless delivery and providing clients a seamless and intuitive digital first experience across all accounts and communications. This role will also be leading the Outbound Paper Reduction Program, working cross-functionally with other product teams, and key stakeholders (Advisor Services, Retail, Legal, Compliance, etc.) to surface and manage scale and efficiency opportunities to reduce the ~$150M annual print and mail expense.

The Sr Manager People Leader will be responsible for the following:

  • Own and Accelerate the OPR Program
    • Lead cross-functional meetings with Ops OPR Product Teams and OPR Business Teams (AS and Retail) to surface new savings opportunities, and manage progress and challenges of existing OPR projects
    • Create, maintain, and actively drive an enterprise roadmap and savings tracker, ensuring clear ownership, disciplined follow-through, and accountability to scale and efficiency commitments
    • Partner closely with finance to validate savings and participate in NPR (NIGO Paper Reduction) Program Updates to provide OPR Program updates to leadership
    • Translate opportunities into clear, data-backed business cases that articulate ROI, risk, tradeoffs, and executive recommendations
  • Lead the Paperless Product Team
    • Define and execute a long-term strategy to ensure a seamless paperless client experience
    • Manage a team of three product owners, defining, prioritizing, and delegating tasks/projects to achieve the long-term strategy based on immediate needs and highest impact
    • Ensure a robust paperless communication control environment by proactively identifying opportunities for the team to introduce automated controls
    • Effectively collaborate and drive issue resolution with the business, legal, compliance, and technology teams
    • Direct team with data analysis to surface savings opportunities and paperless capability enhancements

The ideal candidate is a high-performing, highly organized leader who brings strong executive presence, sound judgment, and a bias for action. They are energized by ambiguous, cross-functional challenges and can quickly structure problems, identify creative paths forward, and mobilize teams toward measurable outcomes. They are growth-minded, intellectually curious, and comfortable challenging the status quo while building trust across business, technology, legal, compliance, and operations partners.
