Your Opportunity

Schwab remains committed to providing increased visibility to career growth opportunities and job requirements. This posting announcement is part of increased transparency and while all qualified applicants will be reviewed and considered, this organization has a preferred candidate identified for this role.

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).

The Managed Investing Operations (MIO) team provides operational support to our Investor Services partners and collaborates closely with business partners and teams across Operations. We play a critical role in delivering strong client outcomes, managing risk, and supporting one of the firm’s fastest‑growing business segments.

The Senior Team Manager plays a key role in translating business and operational priorities into disciplined day‑to‑day execution, developing professionals, and ensuring consistent service, quality, and risk outcomes in a fast‑paced, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop managers and individual contributors, fostering engagement, accountability, and readiness for growth while maintaining a strong control environment.
  • Translate operational priorities, performance expectations, and change initiatives into clear, actionable direction for teams, ensuring consistent execution and follow‑through.
  • Partner closely with the Director and cross‑functional stakeholders (e.g., Risk, Capacity Planning, Workforce, and adjacent Operations teams) to support workload planning, identify risks, and adapt workflows to evolving business needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the team’s span of control by identifying process gaps, inefficiencies, and control risks, and partnering with leadership to implement practical, repeatable solutions.
  • Reinforce new processes, controls, and ways of working by coaching, addressing resistance early, and ensuring changes are embedded into daily routines rather than treated as one‑time initiatives.
  • Manage performance through clear goal‑setting, regular feedback, and timely course correction, balancing productivity, quality, and client experience.

What you have

To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

  • 2+ years of people leadership experience within Operations
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical, communication, and influencing skills with the ability to synthesize information and drive aligned execution
  • Demonstrated ability to identify risk, improve processes, and lead teams through change in a dynamic, regulated environment

Leadership Behaviors & Expectations

  • Managing Performance: Sets clear expectations, tracks outcomes, and holds self and others accountable while supporting development and engagement.
  • Results Orientation: Focuses on client, risk, and service outcomes—balancing efficiency with accuracy and controls.
  • Influencing & Communication: Communicates clearly and confidently across levels, translating complex or evolving priorities into understandable direction for teams.
