Enterprise and Operational Risk Management (EORM)ispart of the Corporate Risk Management (CRM) department that forms the second line of defense at Charles Schwab. EORM enables The Charles Schwab Corporation’s (CSC) purpose and vision by governing and continually improving enterprise and operational risk programs, including effectively challenging business processes to increase understanding and awareness of enterprise and operational risks and improve related risk-based decision making.

Within EORM, the Corporate Insurance Teammitigates operational risk and provides balance sheet protection for the Company by managing the purchase of corporate insurance policies and overseeing the claims’ process

Reporting to the Director ofCorporate Insurance, this roleis responsible forsupportingthe Corporate Insurance Program to include annual renewals of policies under both the Management Liability and Property & Casualtylines of coverage; claims management, business unit consultation and contract review.

Whatyou’lldo

You will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Participate in the design and management of the insurance program
  • Coordinate the process of renewing and placing selected policies as directed by the Director, Corporate Insurance
  • Participatoryor lead responsibility in the review of all insurance policies for accuracy
  • Support the claims processin managingcoordination/communication with Legal, insurance brokers and insurance companies;preparation ofclaims reports
  • Provide guidance and consultationfor third party insurance requirements; reviewinsurance and related provisions in contractsand provide feedback
  • Coordinate insurance related training to business unitsas directed
  • Respond to internal and external requestsfor insurance information
  • Build andleveragerelationships withinsurance brokers
  • Invoicing oversight for all lines of insurance

What you have


Required Qualifications:

  • 5years of experience withininsurance/risk management, preferably withinthefinancial services environment
  • Strongknowledgeand understanding of commercial insurance
  • Superior analytical skillswith keen attention to detail
  • Riskmanagement/insurancedesignation(s)or working towards
  • Able to act decisively in making solid, informed decisions to achievedeliverableswithin constrained timelines.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or business equivalent is preferred

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
