The Trading Platform Strategy and Support team is responsible for managing Schwab's Trading, Credit and Risk, Transaction Posting, Margins Collateral management, Cost Basis, Tax platforms along with first line production support and the availability of all the platforms. The team applies its business and technical expertise to ensure the integrity of the platforms by participating in architecture, design, test and certification activities for these platforms.

This position requires a strong understanding of the E2E Trading and related workflows along with the ability to work with multiple teams at multiple levels. It also requires strong mentorship skills, the ability to be an involved people leader and guide the team through complex requirements, workflows and programs. Some of the key requirements for this role are:

  • Ability to lead a highly skilled support team through incidents and outages across a wide range of platforms
  • Lead QA and UAT sessions to ensure adherence to requirements and usability. Drive the production rollout of new offerings
  • Regular touch base with platform owners to ensure knowledge sharing and potential conflicts
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise and on-boarding guidance to multiple domains for production readiness
  • Ability to communicate to leadership effectively on risk and status of incidents and outages.
  • Prioritize fixes across multiple platforms based on risk to firm

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a platform support role
  • Proficient knowledge of JIRA or any related Scrum tools
  • Possess a detailed understanding of Trading and books and record systems, establishing cross functional roadmaps, strategy across departments and dependency management
  • Strong mentorship and leadership qualities
  • Experience in financial and trading services industry and software technology a must

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Ability to manage, guide and develop a team of highly motivated, strong performers that are looking to grow into a similar role
  • Ability to participate in complex technical and business conversations
  • A Self-starter who is highly functional in a multi-location environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence decisions and resolve conflicts
  • In Depth understanding of Trading, Credit and Risk systems, Margins and Collateral Management, Cost Basis and other related areas
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Analytical problem solving and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to establish rapport with and influence multiple leaders and Schwab colleagues.
  • Well-developed presentation skills; comfort presenting to senior executives on a regular basis.
  • Confidence and thought leadership capability.
  • A ‘can do’, results-oriented approach to business.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
