Operational Services Account Solutions supports multiple business units, including Advisor Services, Investor Services, and International Account Solutions. This hybrid team provides accurate, timely, and risk-focused support for account opening, account maintenance, client correspondence, and related processing for both domestic and international Advisor Service and Retail international clients.

The team helps Schwab grow and service our client base by delivering strong operational execution, sound judgment, and a client-first experience for clients, financial advisors, and internal partners.

As an Account Solutions Specialist, you will process new account applications, account update requests, maintenance items, and client correspondence across Advisor Service and International Account Solutions. This role requires strong processing knowledge, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to assess business, brand, financial, client, and regulatory risk when reviewing documentation and completing account-related work.

  • Review and process Schwab brokerage account applications, maintenance requests, account updates, and client correspondence for domestic and international Advisor Service and retail international clients.
  • Identify, document, control, and escalate risk exposure to Schwab and our clients through thoughtful review and decision-making.
  • Serve as a senior resource by providing guidance, escalation support, and assistance with complex client or documentation scenarios.
  • Provide clear points of contact for one-stop resolution, ongoing support, and timely escalations for internal partners and clients.
  • Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot moderately complex issues and recommend practical solutions.
  • Balance productivity, service quality, accuracy, and business priorities while managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Collaborate across the team to support department goals, client expectations, and a positive Schwab culture.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities, procedures, structure, and technology while maintaining strong individual performance

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to complete multiple complex tasks with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate with limited day-to-day instruction and general direction on assignments.
  • Demonstrated customer service, problem-resolution, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to tailor communication to the audience and explain complex subjects to internal and external clients, including by phone when needed.
  • Advanced technical skills, including use of multiple applications at one time, such as Windows, internet research, database systems, and email.
  • Ability to organize information or materials for self and others to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism, strong work ethic, and high level of integrity and ethics.
  • Flexibility to work within assigned schedules based on business need.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Two or more years of experience within Advisor Service Account Solutions.
  • Desire to obtain Series 7, 63, 9, 10 or 24 licenses.
