​​This position is part of the Digital Utilities Technology team at Schwab and we are looking for a talented Software Development Engineer with full life cycle development and testing experience to join our team to build customer-facing and backend applications. We will focus on driving client-centricity, reducing time to market & increasing efficiency within the within the Digital Services Platform Utilities organization supporting Digital Trading Services (DTS) and Smart Processing Orchestrator (SPO) Platforms.  Ideal candidate shares our passion for technology, innovation, excellence and enjoys fast-paced environment, thrives under ambiguity, and embraces change passionately. We are a Test-Driven development and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery environment. The candidate will work alongside a team of seasoned engineers whose main objective is to maintain all aspects of the overall software development lifecycle and ensure the on-time, quality delivery of software product releases, utilizing AI tools to improve delivery efficiency and quality.​

What you'll do:

• ​​Design, develop, and deliver solutions as part of an Agile Scrum team.
  
• Leverage understanding of software development principles and practices to help mentor and coach junior team members.
  
• Support and triage issues and participate in production support to help develop resilient and secure systems to prevent issues that impact on our clients.
  
• Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to define strategy and scope of software requirements (decompose stories, design features, and prioritize tasks)
  
• Delivering new concepts and features, working alongside development peers in an agile environment
  
• Utilize automated software test tools and frameworks such as test-driven development to achieve the highest quality in software delivery​

What you have

To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of development experience in C# .Net, .NET Core, and understanding of UML (Unified Modeling Language)
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in enterprise middleware systems with focus on rules and sync engines
• Minimum of 4 years of experience with database (SQL / NoSQL) architecture, design and implementation
• Minimum 4 years of experience with modern streaming and messaging architecture, design and implementation (RabbitMQ, Kafka and Solace or similar messaging platforms)
• Solid experience developing and implementing applications, particularly web-enabled applications using:
• Front-End Technologies/Concepts:  ASP.NET Core Web API, MVC, Angular and/or AngularJS, JSON/XML, Sync/Async services, Entity Framework, NServiceBus, MS Test, Azure, AWS, SSIS, SSRS.
  
• Back End Technologies: C#, JavaScript, Typescript, .NET core, RESTful API design, Micro-Services and Event-drive driven architecture and frameworks
  
• Test Automation Tools:  such as Selenium, Load Runner, JMeter, SOAP UI, ReqNRoll, Cucumber or other industry leading tool sets and the Atlassian suite of tools (Jira, Zephyr, Confluence)
  
• Database:  Relational (MS SQL Server)
  
• Environment: Cloud Based Micro-services platform (Private Cloud/Pivotal Cloud Foundry, GCP)
  
• Solid understanding in web application environments and development tools, event-driven application development, session state management, web configuration and deployment strategies, security and performance tuning, and debugging methodologies
  
• Solid understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) concepts, unit testing principles and implementations, API test automation techniques as well as automated deployment pipeline tools
  
• Work closely with architects, tech lead and business partners to define Agile stories for new capabilities.
  
• Perform thorough design reviews and code reviews.
  
• Provide technical direction and support to the rest of your team.
  
• Hands on coding, unit testing and production issue solving.
  
• Lead design and implementation of new stories and bug fixes.
  
• Participate in product roadmap discussions and long-term planning for your team.
  
• Experience, understanding and leveraging AI tools like MS Copilot through IDE, CLI or direct application access that will increase the efficiency of your team and the quality of delivered solutions.
  
• Good understanding of Agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures.
  
• Should be comfortable in a fast-paced customer focused environment that continually embraces the latest technologies and techniques.
