The Retail Web Technology (RWT) organization leads the development and maintenance of Schwab's premier digital platform for retail clients - individual investors just like you.

What you’ll do:
As a Software Developer IV, you will be a key contributor to the design and implementation of our modern web applications. This role is all about getting the job done, so you have a can/will do approach about all tasks associated with getting phenomenal code out the door. You prioritize helping your junior teammates and you ask for help when needed. Key Responsibilities
Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and a passion for delivering highly usable, scalable web software solutions using modern development technologies.
Build outstanding customer experiences and APIs using Microsoft .NET technologies.
Solve complex problems confidently in a dynamic, customer-focused environment that leverages the latest technologies and development practices.
Continuously enhance technical and professional skills by learning emerging technologies and contributing as a valued team member.
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable APIs.
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to fellow team members.
Develop unit tests and automate end-to-end testing to ensure software quality and reliability.
Create dashboards and alerts to provide operational visibility into application performance and health.
Monitor dashboards and alerts proactively, identify issues, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
Document proposed solutions, gather stakeholder feedback, obtain necessary approvals, and drive implementation.
Create, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines to support efficient software delivery.
Support production deployments and participate in production support activities as needed.
Mentor and guide junior team members to support their technical and professional growth.

What you have


Required Qualifications

BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
10+ years of experience in developing and maintaining highly scalable software applications
5+ years of experience in the financial services or trading domain
Strong C#/.NET Core development skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience designing, creating, and consuming RESTful APIs and services
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
Ability to thrive in a distributed development environment across multiple time zones and locations
Understanding of Agile software development principles, including active participation in code reviews
Experience creating dashboards and alerts, and using Splunk for log analysis and monitoring
Experience developing automated test cases and test scripts using Mabl

Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
Familiarity with Angular, TypeScript, and client-side MV* frameworks
Experience building responsive web applications and Single Page Applications (SPAs)
Knowledge of unit testing methodologies and patterns, including TDD and BDD
