The Client Experience Technology (CET) organization is responsible for developing and enhancing client experience for Schwab.com and Mobile. We are seeking a Specialist – Software Engineer to lead and develop Security Automation Tools, spanning Veracode remediation, DoD release evidence, open-source supply-chain scanning and who is passionate about applying modern engineering practices, automation, and innovative technologies to deliver exceptional client experience.

About the Role
We are looking for a Specialist – Software Engineer to design and develop Security Automation Tools, spanning across Veracode remediation, DoD release evidence, open-source supply-chain scanning, and runtime JavaScript integrity monitoring. This portfolio needs an owner at Specialist - Software Development & Engineering scope for four reasons. Develop tools that share a config-driven, modular design that must stay coherent as new scanners, data sources, and business rules are added. The work spans AppSec, DevSecOps, application teams, DoD release, and management escalation paths, requiring an engineer who can set direction across those boundaries rather than execute inside one. 

Own end-to-end quality delivery across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including design, development, testing, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement. 

Design, develop, and maintain scalable Security Automation frameworks and tools for web applications, APIs, services, and enterprise systems. 

Develop and execute automated test suites, test plans, and validation strategies covering functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end scenarios. 

Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous validation, rapid feedback, and high-quality software releases. 

Analyze test results, troubleshoot defects, debug automation failures, and drive root-cause identification and resolution. 

Collaborate with developers, product owners, business analysts, and Agile teams to define quality strategies, acceptance criteria, release readiness, and delivery metrics. 

Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools and prompt engineering techniques to improve productivity, accelerate automation development, enhance code quality, and streamline documentation. 

Support production readiness and operational excellence through monitoring, observability, logging, dashboards, alerting, incident analysis, and reliability improvements. 

Champion engineering excellence through code reviews, mentoring, quality advocacy, accessibility validation, cross-browser testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you have


 Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
4+ years of experience in Software Development Engineering, SecurityAutomationandtoolsroles within Agile environments.

Strong software engineering fundamentals, including C#/.NET, JavaScript, TypeScript, object-oriented programming, data structures, design patterns, and SOLID principles.

Proven experience designing quality strategies based on application architecture, integration points, system dependencies, and end-to-end business workflows.

Expertise with modern Security frameworks and tools such as Veracode, Qualys,CodeQLetc.

Strong experience in API, integration, regression, performance, and security testing using tools such as REST Assured, Postman, Bruno, JMeter, or equivalent technologies.

Deep understanding of Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices, including TDD, BDD, source control, release automation, and continuous testing.

Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases, production support, observability platforms, application monitoring, and incident troubleshooting.

Demonstrated experienceleveragingAI-powered engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, AI-assisted testing solutions, prompt engineering techniques, and workflow automation tools.

Ability to interpret and contribute to high-level and detailed architecture and design documentation.

Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), or similar cloud-native environments.

Experience working with modern engineering tools, including Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Bamboo, and related DevOps platforms.

Experience supportinghighly available, customer-facing applications in regulated or large-scale enterprise environments.

Knowledge of financial services, trading platforms, or other regulated industries is a plus.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence technical decisions across cross-functional teams.

Thorough understanding of Agile software development principles, values, and engineering practices.

Curiosity for emerging technologies and a demonstrated ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced,innovation-driven environment.
