Schwab’s Investor Development Teams are an integral part of the Investor Services organization and are primarily responsible for helping existing Schwab clients to retain assets and consolidate assets and identify products, services, experiences that will support their long-term needs. We strive to create a consistent and exceptional client experience to ensure every client interaction is the very best Schwab has to offer. We accomplish this by focusing on the client’s holistic needs, assisting with new account openings, proposing relevant solutions, and navigating clients through necessary steps to ensure they are in a fully integrated relationship with Schwab.
The IDT Sr Team Manager – Retention & Outreach will provide the coaching, support, guidance, and leadership to ensure success for our clients, and to ensure they sustain a high level of engagement and focus for our Retention Investment Consultants. This leader will also be expected to provide actionable feedback to Senior Leadership on trends and opportunities to help shape the future of the business development model. The ideal candidate will have a high degree of professionalism portraying confidence with team members, internal colleagues, and executives.
Your typical day would include sales coaching and process management, development of Investment Consultants with effective training and performance management, review of retention lead optimization, performance data analysis for trends and actions, interviewing prospective team members, collaborating with business partners, sharing of best practices, and performing the compliance and administrative tasks inherent in our industry.
What you’ll do:
- Lead an engaged sales team in supporting the firm’s retention, acquisition, and growth efforts.
- Deliver retention and business results through individualized EDGE coaching and Situational Leadership II.
- Lead and inspire team members through effective communication and coaching, creating a culture of success and trust across all employees.
- Build relationships with key business partners and connect with others across the firm to boost results and provide the best client experience.
- Be an ambassador for the IDT/WCS/RESR brand.
- Integrate corporate-led initiatives, owning the message and translating it into your own leadership message.
- Leverage systems and technology to help IDT Retention Consultants optimize the client experience.
- Effectively adopt new tools and capabilities by acting as a champion of change.
- Acquire and retain top talent through focused employee engagement, creation of a positive work culture and a strong orientation to personal growth and development.
What you have

Required:
- Active FINRA Series 7, Series 66, Series 9/10
- Extensive Schwab network experience to best address client concerns
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Prefer a minimum of 5 years of financial services experience, including prior leadership experience
- A desire to lead in an ever-changing business environment, a passion for sales management, and a deep commitment to client service
- Entrepreneurial and a self-starter mindset
- Polished and persuasive interpersonal and verbal/ written communication skills
- Able to quickly learn new technology and utilize a variety of data and systems
- Collaborative and relationship-focused work style with demonstrated success in a team-based environment
- Open to ongoing coaching and development to achieve positive client outcomes and career aspirations
- Strong time management skills and productivity; ability to successfully balance competing priorities
- Robust business acumen and understanding of all the products and services at Schwab

In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
