AS Trading Service is the primary trading hub for Advisor Services. AS Trading Service supports Advisors and their end-clients, fulfilling our purpose to deliver brilliant experiences and empower Advisors to grow, compete and succeed. We’re seeking a Senior Manager of AS Trading Services to lead and advance the successful execution of AS Trading’s Key Objectives.

In AS Trading Services, our vision is building trust in relationships with our Advisors, empowering their independence and success throughout the wealth implementation process. We support Schwab’s RIAs and their end-clients, who trade international and domestic Equity, ETF and Option products. A key objective is Advisor Trading Enablement, strengthening their trading best practices and streamlining operational effectiveness. We do this by engaging them on their trading management and wealth implementation process, offering strategic coaching and education that streamlines operational effectiveness and maximizes their adoption of Schwab’s Trading tools and resources.

The role of the AS Trading Service Sr Manager requires proven leadership skills and extensive knowledge of institutional trading. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading Service Professional engagement, development, and regulatory compliance. This leader will play a critical role in business planning, staff management, recruiting and performance management. As a key contributor, the candidate will support the Director of AS Trading to establish policies, processes, objectives, and metrics that promote our vision and purpose.

Must work with multiple departments across the firm including, AS Sales, PostEx, Trading Ops, Risk and Global. In addition to creating partnerships across various Schwab groups, this person must be an advocate for the trade desk and our clients by collaborating with third party vendors and market makers to improve our operational processes and client experience.

What you have

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years previous management or supervisory experience
• 10+ years of financial services industry experience
• Series 7, 63 and 24 (required)
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or CFA designation preferred
• Proficient with Bloomberg, Trafix and EMS/OMS products
• Resourceful, proactive and able to prioritize and navigate in a fast-paced environment
• Disciplined self-starter who can utilize downtime on value-add projects and additional Trade Analysis
• Comprehensive knowledge of international and domestic equity and ETF products, risks, trading strategies, venues, regulations, and factors influencing price trends
• Advanced understanding of RIA Industry and Trading’s role within Wealth Management

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to develop concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences
• Demonstrated experience enabling change and implementing major components of a key initiative.
• Ambitious self-starter possessing a can-do attitude with the ability to manage multiple relationships simultaneously with minimal direction; and have shown the ability to anticipate and resolve problems under their own initiative
• Strong influencing and motivating skills; demonstrated success in building credibility and strong relationships with peers and key stakeholders (at the Senior Manager and Director level)
• Proven ability to manage complex planning processes across multiple inflight initiatives, and demonstrated success leading key objective results with team members
• Advanced understanding of RIA industry and optimizing the trading management process
• Advanced knowledge of order execution methods to source liquidity, such as: Request for Quote, Liquidity seeking strategies, scheduled algos and ability to access lit and dark liquidity.
• Strong understanding of regulatory landscape, and applicable SEC and FINRA rules governing market structure and trading
• 57 (preferred)

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
