In this role, you will be asked to switch gears throughout the day to assist with meeting critical cut-off times, high volume spikes, and a variety of project opportunities to strengthen the business. Flexibility, attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and a strong understanding of risk factors are key aspects of this role and the ideal candidate. Additionally, you will need to be equally comfortable with networking internally to research and resolve client operational issues. Functions can vary but key Senior Specialist responsibilities include:
- Processing of various account updates including new account opening, account maintenance items, money and security movements, and other miscellaneous operations requests for new accounts
- Becoming a Subject Matter Expert in your primary discipline, as well as being cross trained in other functions within the team
- Staying current on all industry and internal policies and procedures
- Building and sustaining strong relationships with key Schwab business partners
- Researching to resolve issues with new paperwork, and effectively communicating Not in Good Orders to our advisor-facing business partners
- Managing workload to meet same day service level standard while focusing on accuracy
- Managing multiple tasks effectively by balancing high productivity with excellent service quality
What you have
To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
The ideal candidate will possess brokerage, back office, or operational experience in a high-volume environment, coupled with strong communication skills. Cross-functional operational knowledge or processing experience in account opening, processing, cash transactions, and/or asset transfers is strongly desired. Ability to identify efficiencies in operations and workflow, and problem solve towards resolution is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Series 7, 63 preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Superior attention to detail and highly accurate; strong sense of risk awareness
- Cross-functional operational knowledge or experience in account opening, processing, cash management or account transfers in a high-volume environment, coupled with customer service skills and experience is strongly desirable.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills along with the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple complex processes/projects
- Effective problem resolution and relationship management skills and a strong sense of teamwork
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently with little supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office for daily communication and special projects relating to the role.
- Demonstrate the ability to build and sustain strong relationships with clients and other Schwab business partners.
- Handle complex requests and escalations
- Ability to identify and communicate trends in paperwork errors/not in good orders
- Problem-solving mindset strongly desired
- Quality, accuracy, and accountability are key attributes that will mark the finalists for this position
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
