Your Opportunity

Schwab Advisor Services (AS) is the industry leader in providing custody, trading, technology, and practice management services to independent advisory firms.  In Advisor Services, Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) and their clients are at the center of everything we do. We have built our business on serving the needs of RIAs and advancing an industry that helps them and their clients thrive.  We understand their needs and work side by side providing the support they need to help them manage their firm and meet their goals.

Schwab Advisor Services has newly established a Wealth Services Activation Team as part of our focus on Wealth Management.  This is a key strategic initiative within Advisor Services, with high visibility across executive leadership.  As Senior Team Manager of our Wealth Service Activation team, you have the opportunity to bring your passion for leading others while also managing your own book of advisor support and relationship building.

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as a “player-and-coach” of a team of highly capable individual contributors working to help RIAs discover, access and implement Schwab’s expansive array of Wealth Services solutions
  • Build and maintain a high-trust, high-performance team, setting clear role expectations and strategically coaching to expand impact
  • Champion the AS Wealth Services offering both internally with key business partners and externally with advisors by clearly demonstrating how Schwab is more than a custodian and make Schwab “feel small” related to our Wealth Services offers.
  • Proactively represent the AS Wealth Services offering at internal business partner and sales team connection points, articulate the benefits and value Schwab delivers to advisors for their clients, helping them distinguish their practices in a competitive marketplace.
  • Act as a dynamic advocate for advisors, proactively identifying opportunities to deliver value and help navigate the many Wealth Services options, benefits, and services available at Schwab.
  • Engage in consultative conversations that go beyond the standard, using strong discovery techniques to uncover the unique needs, goals, and aspirations of both advisors and their clientele.
  • Leverage expertise and a robust suite of Schwab’s solutions (including investment management, lending, and trading, for example) to tailor discussions that drive business growth and strengthen client relationships.
  • Contribute to the strategic growth of the Wealth Services offering by actively seeking new business opportunities, expanding relationships, and continually promoting Schwab’s wealth management platform within the RIA community.

What you have

Required Experience:

  • 4+ years of people leadership experience (either as a direct manager or informal leadership role) with demonstrated success coaching employees to achieve and exceed performance standards
  • 5+ years of financial services industry or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 3 years focused on RIAs
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated success in building high-performance teams and cultivating an inclusive culture
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, relationships and rapport quickly with direct reports, RIAs and internal partners.
  • Energetic, solution-oriented mindset with a skillset of attracting, retaining, and growing relationships with RIAs
  • Exceptional ability to uncover and address complex client needs, leveraging strong consultative skills and a deep understanding of the wealth management landscape.
  • Expertise in communicating the distinctive value and solutions available through Schwab for the RIA model, empowering Advisors to better serve their clients and achieve growth.
  • Demonstrated success in driving results, measured by client satisfaction, asset growth, and adoption of Schwab’s wealth management solutions.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including the ability to handle client needs with tact and diplomacy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active & valid FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses
  • Experience working with RIA clients directly
  • In-depth knowledge of Schwab Advisor Services products, services, complex subject matters, policies, and procedures as well as demonstrated brokerage industry knowledge.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
