The Senior Manager, TA Strategy & Initiatives will be accountable for defining and executing against TA strategies while managing complex and broad initiatives across the function. This role will also manage related aspects of Schwab’s onboarding program, further driving a strategy of innovation and process improvement while collaborating with key stakeholders across the firm.

In this role, you’ll lead and consult on complex initiatives that require strategic thinking, structured project execution, sound decision-making, and the ability to translate ideas into measurable outcomes. You’ll partner closely with leaders across Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, and the broader enterprise to identify opportunities, solve problems, align priorities, and move work forward with clarity and accountability. Success in this role will come from your ability to navigate ambiguity, influence across teams, evaluate change impacts, and build strong partnerships that help Talent Acquisition deliver scalable, practical, and forward-thinking solutions.

Your work will directly support Talent Acquisition’s ability to deliver a stronger experience for candidates, hiring managers, and internal stakeholders while contributing to meaningful progress across Schwab.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead or consult on complex strategic initiatives for Talent Acquisition

  • Understand and leverage TA’s 5-year strategy and operating model to identify and recommend opportunities for greater efficiency, scalability, and process improvement

  • Further the advancement of TA and HR strategies, balancing innovation with Schwab’s “brilliant basics”, and aligning priorities within the function and across HR

  • Leverage project management best practices to develop and execute project plans that drive business deliverables

  • Identify potential gaps and long-term opportunities to further optimize Schwab’s onboarding program, and align with stakeholders to achieve milestones

  • Evaluate change implications for initiatives and other functional impacts, leveraging change management best practices to drive training and adoption

  • Act as a key influencer with stakeholders across TA, HR, and other enterprises, leveraging a consultative and strategic partner approach to ensure the successful delivery of initiatives

  • Communicate with talent acquisition leadership on the status of initiatives and programs being managed, as well as presenting new ideas for potential enhancements

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure cross-functional alignment and seamless execution of TA and HR strategic priorities

  • Serve as a mentor and thought leader to expand TA capabilities for project and program management

What you have


To ensure that we fulfill our promise of challenging the status quo, this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

  • 5+ years of project management or equivalent experience, including leading initiatives or programs within Talent Acquisition or Human Resources

  • 5+ years of experience developing and executing project plans that support business deliverables, stakeholder alignment, or process improvement outcomes

  • Experience leading or consulting on complex initiatives that require cross-functional collaboration, problem-solving, and decision-making

  • Experience communicating initiative status, recommendations, and outcomes to leaders or key stakeholders

  • Ability to translate strategy into actionable plans while balancing near-term priorities with long-term opportunities

  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with business leaders, Human Resources partners, Talent Acquisition teams, and enterprise stakeholders

Preferred qualifications

  • Strong candidates will also have experience using project management practices and tools to organize work, manage milestones, and deliver measurable results

  • Prosci Change Management certification or related change management certification

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple concurrent initiatives

  • Experience supporting or optimizing onboarding programs, talent processes, or Human Resources initiatives

  • Proficient in identifying opportunities for greater efficiency, scalability, process improvement, and operational effectiveness

  • Experience applying change management practices to support training, adoption, and sustained business outcomes

In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
