The Trade Away Services Team provides a wide range of phone-based service and support to institutional clients (independent investment advisory firms) to enhance the client experience and increase client loyalty. We work with peers, client, and business partners to mitigate risk and ensure timely settlement booking trades. Our group researches and responds to client issues related to trades executed away from Schwab. We promote client retention and identifies opportunities to expand existing relationships through service quality, delivery of timely and accurate information in response to inquiries and/or service issues, and services, and recommending service or process enhancements. 

As a Manager (Non-People Leader) you will work alongside the Trade Away Services Team to provide technical support to our team as well as superior service to our investment Advisors by assisting in the following areas:

  • Manage daily service levels, respond to escalations, and resolve issues within scope of knowledge and authority to deliver optimal business results
  • Ensure compliance of SEC /FINRA regulations
  • Assist in the development and coaching of individuals within the team
  • Actively participate in team meetings
  • SME (subject matter expert) and primary point of contact for Business Partners, Advisors, Service and Tech teams.
  • Update processes/user guides as needed
  • Coordination of team rotating duties to include performing backup as needed
  • Build a brand of leadership and influence across business segments and locations

What you have


To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 7-10 years of financial services industry experience
  • FINRA Series 7, 63, and 9/10 or 24 is required
  • Deep working knowledge of Settlement Operations, with street side experience is a plus, including knowledge of DTC, foreign, OCC, WorkX, ORF, government, and restricted securities
  • 5 years of experience of DVP trading: Prime Broker, Client to Client, and Broker to Broker
  • 5 years of experience of Step In, Step Out, and CMTA trading

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Strong customer contact skills, along with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task are critical
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, and Outlook
  • Strong knowledge base of Copilot, AI, and serve as a recognized subject matter expert in Microsoft Copilot and Generative AI technologies, driving enterprise adoption through strategic guidance, training, governance, and innovation
  • Ability to act as technical support for system issues, enhancements, and installments including testing, writing user scripts, and performing reconciliation tasks
  • Must work well in a collaborative team environment, including cross locations and remotely
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
