We are hiring for a Senior Specialist role to support complex account and recovery activities. This role requires expertise in investment products, sound analytical judgment, and effective risk management practices.
What you'll do:
- Execute strategies to recover firm losses.
- Work with clients to resolve their negative account balances.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding bankruptcies.
- Monitor accounts across broker-dealer and bank collection workflows.
- Track unsecured client accounts and report findings to senior and executive leadership.
- Manage relationships with third-party collection vendors to support recovery efforts.
- Process and oversee bankruptcy notices and filings.
- Develop and maintain the firm’s bad debt write-off policy.
What you have
To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in credit and/or account recovery, including credit assessment and monitoring delinquent accounts, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Series 7 and 63 licenses are required. Unlicensed candidates must obtain the SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 within six months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to solve complex problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate with specialists, business partners, and leadership.
- Advanced knowledge of broker-dealer operations, financial markets, products, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and resolve issues effectively.
- Working knowledge of (or willingness to learn) credit and bankruptcy laws, with strong negotiation and financial analysis skills.
- Self-starter with sound judgment, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to work independently.
