Charles Schwab Advisor Services is the industry leader in providing custodial, trading, technology, and practice management solutions to independent advisory firms. Our superior service, combined with access to sophisticated wealth-management tools, helps advisors attract and retain affluent clients while profitably growing and strengthening their businesses. The AWS Service People Leader (GL57) plays a critical leadership role by developing senior individual contributors (GL56 Sr Specialists) and ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery to our Enterprise advisors. This role operates at a broader scale and higher level of complexity than a GL57 Team Lead role, with increased decision authority, people leadership accountability, and responsibility for translating strategy into execution.

What you’ll do:

  • Leading and developing GL56 Sr Specialists
  • Directly manage, mentor, and coach GL56 Sr Specialists with accountability for performance, engagement, and professional growth
  • Own end-to-end development of GL56 Sr Specialists, including skill building, readiness for expanded scope, and preparation for future leadership roles
  • Establish clear expectations and performance standards while enabling autonomy in day-to-day decision making Scope, complexity, and decision authority
  • Lead across increased client complexity, advisor influence, and business impact
  • Make independent people, performance, and client decisions within established Enterprise and Advisor Services frameworks
  • Serve as a key decision maker for escalations related to client experience, talent performance, and operational risk
  • Translate strategic direction from the GL59 People Leader into actionable priorities, coaching plans, and execution at the frontline level Coaching, development, and performance management
  • Drive a consistent coaching culture through observation, feedback, and structured development planning
  • Use business metrics, client outcomes, and qualitative insights to guide coaching and performance discussions
  • Actively support succession planning by identifying and developing high-potential GL56 Sr Specialists Client and business leadership
  • Work directly with large, complex, and influential RIAs, maintaining strong advisor relationships and ensuring service excellence
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex client issues, balancing client advocacy, operational integrity, and Schwab business priorities
  • Model consultative leadership behaviors that reinforce Schwab’s Enterprise service model Operational excellence and collaboration
  • Anticipate and mitigate risk across people, client experience, and operational processes through proactive leadership
  • Partner cross-functionally with peers and senior leaders on enterprise initiatives, change management, and continuous improvement
  • Contribute insights and recommendations that influence the strategic evolution of Enterprise Advisor Services

What you have


To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required:

  • 2+ years of people leadership or senior-level leadership experience in the brokerage or financial services industry, preferably with RIA-facing exposure
  • Demonstrated experience leading senior individual contributors or specialists with increased autonomy and complexity
  • Active Series 7 and 63 or 66 licenses
  • Active Series 9/10 or Series 24 licenses
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate degree or equivalent experience considered
  • Strong coaching capability with a proven ability to elevate performance and readiness of top-tier talent

Preferred:

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, business change, and elevated client expectations
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and a collaborative leadership approach
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with comfort managing competing demands Positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism, and strong work ethic with high level of integrity and ethics

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
