Your Opportunity

Schwab remains committed to providing increased visibility to career growth opportunities and job requirements. This posting announcement is part of increased transparency and while all qualified applicants will be reviewed and considered, this organization has a preferred candidate identified for this role.

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).

Schwab’s Wealth Advisory, Banking, and Trust (WABT) organization delivers comprehensive wealth management, banking, and trust solutions across the full advice spectrum. WABT partners closely across the enterprise to deliver scalable, clientcentric experiences while maintaining strong risk management and regulatory discipline.

In parallel, Schwab continues to invest in new product capabilities through Schwab Investment Platforms, Services, and Solutions (SIPSS), a product organization focused on enabling innovation, platform scalability, and differentiated client and advisor experiences.

The Wealth and Product Risk & Governance organization provides firstline risk leadership across WABT and SIPSS. The team enables growth and innovation by evolving how risk, governance, and supervision operate, leveraging technology, data, and intelligence to support scalable oversight, efficient decision making, and consistent execution across complex products and services.

To support this evolution, Wealth and Product Risk & Governance is hiring a Director, Wealth and Product Risk Technology and Intelligence. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and serving as a member of the leadership team, this role will be accountable for advancing the risk technology, data, analytics, and AI capabilities that underpin modern governance, supervision, and reporting across WABT and SIPSS.

Key responsibilities

  • Define and execute the multiyear strategy for risk technology, data, intelligence, and AI enablement across Wealth and Product Risk & Governance, with a clear focus on scale, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Serve as the primary business owner for risk technology outcomes by partnering with enterprise risk product owners and technology teams to define business requirements, prioritize enhancements, and drive delivery of highimpact capabilities.
  • Lead businessled development to automate supervisory processes, including the design and implementation of supervisory alerts, scenarios, and monitoring routines that improve coverage and reduce manual effort.
  • Build and mature risk data, analytics, and executive reporting that support early risk identification, provide forwardlooking insights, and enable faster, better informed decision making.
  • Establish and oversee AI governance and AI deployment within the Risk and Governance space, including defining guardrails, prioritizing use cases, and scaling responsible AI adoption to improve supervisory effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Partner closely with WABT, SIPSS, Legal, Compliance, Technology, and Governance and Business Operations to ensure governance routines are productspecific, coordinated, and intentional, with clear objectives and minimal administrative overhead.
  • Support governance rationalization efforts by reducing duplication and overlap across forums, while preserving strong oversight and alignment with enterprise governance expectations.
  • Act as a senior people leader and leadership team member, accountable for outcomes and results, while shaping priorities, ways of working, and a culture oriented toward continuous improvement and transformation.
  • Lead a small but growing, multidisciplinary team with differentiated roles spanning product and technology adjacency, data and analytics, and supervisory and risk domain expertise, evolving responsibilities as capabilities mature.
  • Success in this role will be measured by demonstrable improvements in scale and efficiency, including automation of supervisory workflows, reduction of manual and duplicative governance activities, and responsible adoption of AIenabled capabilities that improve outcomes and support sustainable growth.

What you have

To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

  • Experience influencing or delivering risk, compliance, or supervisory technology solutions, including working through federated or shared ownership models.
  • Experience leading businessled development, automation, analytics, or AIenabled initiatives, ideally in regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of wealth management, investment products, or advisory platforms and the associated risk and supervisory considerations.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, crossfunctional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders across business, risk, and technology organizations.
  • Demonstrated collaborative leadership mindset, with the ability to operate as part of a cohesive leadership team, understand adjacent leadership roles, and represent the broader organization in partner engagements.
  • Willingness and ability to adapt and flex role scope and team focus in response to shifting organizational needs and priorities, while maintaining clarity of accountability.
  • Strong judgment around when to independently represent the organization and when to engage the Managing Director or other leadership team members to drive the best outcomes.
