Retail Field Enablement is a diverse and multi-faceted organization that supports Retail front line professionals and a variety of internal partners through Change Management, Retail Field Communications, Crisis Communications and Retail Knowledge Management.

Within Retail Field Enablement, the Retail Change Management team is responsible for providing voice of the field perspective and applying targeted levers at each stage of the change process, including leadership alignment, stakeholder engagement, concise communication, training, and education. This role supports client-facing teams with thoughtful communication, searchable, and easy-to-navigate digital content and training and education.

As we continue to build momentum with Retail Communications, Knowledge Management, and emerging productivity tools, we are looking for a strategic, purposeful leader who will continue to evolve the tools and team.

The Director of Retail Field Enablement will report to the Managing Director of Retail Field Enablement and lead of team of enablement managers. This function will work closely with the Knowledge Management team, Retail Communications team, and a range of teams across the broader Schwab organization.

The Director will play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing change management for our most important transformation initiatives. This position requires a dynamic and experienced leader to both lead and coach successful change strategy implementation and foster increased capabilities within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a high degree of business acumen in interacting with executive leaders, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a proven history of successful leadership of large-scale initiatives.

In this role, you will: 

  • Lead Change Managers who design and implement change strategies aligned with business objectives, partnering with executive leadership to assess readiness and define success metrics.
  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders to ensure alignment, buy-in, and effective communication throughout change initiatives.
  • Conduct impact analyses and readiness evaluations to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Provide coaching to change managers and function as a strategic advisor to team on transformation initiatives, change strategy, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Build relationships with a wide range of business partners to develop a deep understanding of the retail business and uniquely position yourself as an invaluable subject matter authority.
  • Build high performing, diverse, cross-functional work teams rallied around the strategy.

What you have


Required:

  • 10 + years’ experience in financial services encompassing strategy and tactical delivery.
  • Experience with direct people leadership with experience managing high performing, matrixed teams.
  • Demonstrated change management or strategic communications experience or experience leading large-scale initiatives.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, ability to work in both a strategic and executional capacity, and comfort with ambiguity and adapting to change 
  • Leadership and relationship-building skills, including ability to influence and drive decisions across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience developing and presenting executive communications that synthesize analysis and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and influencing skills, especially in cross-functional teams.

Preferred:

  • FINRA Licenses: Series 7 and 63 and 9/10

In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
