The Risk Management Technology team partners with business stakeholders to deliver innovative technology solutions for Corporate Risk Management, including Enterprise, Operational, Market, and other risk-related functions. This team is driving a multi-year technology and process transformation that supports Schwab’s growth strategy.
In this role, you will collaborate with technical delivery teams, business partners, and Agile practitioners to help deliver solutions that align with business priorities through an Agile, customer-focused approach. The ideal candidate is passionate about improving Agile processes, exploring emerging technologies, and helping teams optimize how they work and deliver value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serves as scrum master for an Agile software development team(s) - effectively applies Agile principles and practices, including the Scrum framework, Kanban Method, and Agile Manifesto, to drive iterative development, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer value delivery
- Navigates complex challenges within these methodologies, ensuring efficient sprint planning, reviews, issue resolution and retrospectivesMaintains awareness of emerging trends and best practices in Agile methodologies, to continuously enhance team performance and project outcomes
- Large and highly complex cross-functional projects or programs that drive sustained competitive advantage
- Consistently upholds the values of responsibility, reliability, and trustworthiness, respecting the confidentiality of shared information and providing honest and forthright communication.
- Identify possible risks to the project success and provide mitigation strategies
- Craft and improve the use of metrics to unify cross-team effectiveness and communication with executive management
- Coach and educate others so that they may effectively strive to realize the promises of Agile development
What you have
To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM, Business, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 5–8 years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or Agile delivery professional supporting software development teams across delivery and operational support.
• Proven ability to lead Agile teams through complex initiatives, drive continuous improvement, and remove impediments to delivery.
• Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and PI Planning, including dependency management, risk identification, capacity planning, and execution tracking.
• Strong ability to manage priorities, risks, dependencies, and commitments independently with sound judgment.
• Skilled at collaborating across distributed teams, organizational boundaries, Product Owners, stakeholders, and Agile practitioners.
• Experience applying Agile principles, delivery metrics, AI-enabled tools, and best practices to improve predictability, quality, reporting, and operational efficiency.
• Familiarity with modern software development practices and tools, including web application technology stacks, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Bamboo, and CI/CD methodologies.
• Strong facilitation, communication, stakeholder management, influence, mentoring, and conflict resolution skills.
• Guides transformative initiatives to optimize organizational capabilities for impactful results.
• Optimizes Agile principles and practices to consistently deliver customer value.
