The Director of Securities Lending Offer Development is responsible for the ongoing evolution, enhancement and performance of Schwab’s client-facing Securities Lending offers, including solutions within the Short Sale and Fully Paid Lending products. This role serves as the business owner for individual lending offers, translating strategic priorities, business objectives, client research/feedback and market insights into enhancements that drive business growth, client adoption and improve client outcomes. Emphasis on a scalable systems mindset will be essential to success: simplifying workflows, reducing redundant data and manual activity, and creating actionable intelligence for business and client-facing teams are key objectives.
Reporting to the Director of Securities Lending Strategy, the Director will partner closely Securities Lending Services, Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Advisor Services, Retail and Trading Platform Strategy and Support/Core Infrastructure Platform teams to strengthen offer competitiveness, scalability and client experiences. The role is responsible for defining offer requirements, prioritizing enhancements, supporting commercialization efforts, tracking offer health and ensuring client-facing capabilities continue to evolve in alignment with business objectives and market needs.
Securities Lending is advancing a multi-year modernization agenda focused on growth, client experience, resilience and automation. This Director will provide dedicated leadership across several of the portfolio’s most important initiatives, connecting strategy to execution and ensuring new capabilities are practical, controlled and valuable to clients and the business.
What you have
- 10 years’+ experience leading product, platform or business transformation initiatives within financial services.
- Demonstrated success partnering with technology teams to define requirements and deliver complex product solutions using agile methods.
- Experience with CRM and Salesforce capabilities, including lead and opportunity management, workflow design, data quality and adoption by field or sales teams.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and influence, with the ability to align business, technology, operations, sales, risk, legal and compliance stakeholders
- Ability to translate complex business needs into clear roadmaps, requirements, operating models and executive-level narratives.
- Experience building scaled products or tools that deliver actionable insights, improve client or employee experiences and education, and support measurable business outcomes.
- Strong judgment, structured problem-solving, communication and change-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex environment.
- Knowledge of securities lending, Short Sales, Prime Brokerage, Fully Paid Lending, trading, collateral or related capital-markets workflows is strongly preferred.
- SIE and MBA preferred.
What You’ll Do
- Own strategy and execution for multiple complex client-facing Securities Lending initiatives, from discovery and business case development through requirements, implementation, adoption and ongoing enhancement.
- Identify business opportunities and client pain points for owned offers, advocating for their prioritization and supporting the execution and development process.
- Partner with business stakeholders across Retail, Advisor Services, Trading, Operations, Risk and Technology to define client needs, prospect targeting, prioritize product enhancements and deliver differentiated Securities Lending capabilities
- Lead development of Salesforce-specific client management capabilities within the internal Fully Paid Lending application, improving lead and opportunity management, data quality, workflow reliability and the user experience for client-facing teams.
- Build strong feedback loops with field partners, sales leaders, Salesforce champions and business stakeholders to test concepts, prioritize enhancements and support effective change management.
- Track and report on the health, dependencies and milestones of client-facing offers, keeping leadership informed on scope, risk and timeline as offers move from design through launch.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance and Risk to evaluate regulatory and suitability considerations for new or enhanced client-facing offers
- Define and track product health metrics for client-facing offers – adoption, conversion, engagement and satisfaction, to prioritize enhancements, optimize processes and ensure delivery outcomes align with strategic business and competitive objectives
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
