At Schwab, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while helping deliver outstanding service to retirement plan clients and participants. As a Manager within Trading Operations, you will provide leadership and operational oversight for the administration of qualified retirement plans, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and an exceptional client experience.
You will lead a team responsible for supporting daily retirement plan administration activities, including contributions, distributions, loans, reconciliation, and trading functions. In addition, you'll partner with internal teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, manage operational risk, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'd do:
- Leading and developing a team that supports retirement plan administration activities.
- Monitoring daily workflow, ensuring work is completed accurately and within service level expectations.
- Providing coaching, mentoring, and ongoing performance feedback to team members.
- Escalating and resolving complex operational and client issues.
- Supporting strategic projects, process enhancements, and system implementations.
- Identifying operational risks and implementing solutions to improve quality, efficiency, and scalability.
- Ensuring compliance with ERISA regulations and internal policies and procedures.
- Building strong relationships with internal partners, pension administrators, plan sponsors, and service providers.
- Driving a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
What you have

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Effectively demonstrate mastery of the job knowledge and tasks performed by the 56 job grade at a consistently high-level
- 7-10 years of related experience in retirement services, brokerage operations, trust operations, or a similar financial services environment.
- Strong knowledge of ERISA regulations and qualified retirement plans, including 401(k) and profit-sharing plans.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members.
- Experience managing operational risk, resolving complex issues, and improving business processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence positive outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of retirement plan administration platforms and operational systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and retirement services applications.
- Understanding of pension and securities industry operations and regulations.
- Experience leading projects involving new processes, technologies, or workflow enhancements.
