This posting announcement is part of increased transparency and while all qualified applicants will be reviewed and considered, this organization has a preferred candidate identified for this role.
Organization Objective/Purpose
Schwab’s purpose is to help everyone become financially fit. Over the last thirty years, Schwab has grown from a brokerage house into one of the nation’s leading financial institutions. The Enterprise Technology & Infrastructure organization supports Schwab’s business goals through technology, operations, projects, business continuity, and offshore management. Summary and Responsibilities
Desktop Software Management (DSM), part of Workplace Technology, requires a dedicated resource to manage the enterprise software lifecycle across Windows, Mac, VDI, and managed endpoint platforms. This role independently addresses moderate-to-complex technical and operational challenges, including vulnerability remediation, end-of-life software risk, application certification, deployment, and governance of previously unmanaged software. The position applies endpoint management expertise and analytical judgment while partnering with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Engineering, and Workplace Technology teams to ensure compliance, security, and service stability. This expanded enterprise scope, accountability for risk reduction, and expectation to operate with limited direction align with Grade Level 55 competency expectations.
DSM is responsible for software integration, certification, deployment, and release management. Integration and Packaging services deliver desktop software, security updates, configuration changes, and fixes through the BigFix platform. The Testing and Certification service validates application installs, upgrades, and backouts in a controlled lab environment to ensure production readiness. Pilot testing is then used to validate package integrity before enterprise deployment. JAMF Cloud is used to deliver software, patches, and upgrades to Mac endpoints.
Responsibilities May Include
- Test automated application installs, upgrades, and backouts.
- Maintain compliance with Microsoft operating system release cadences through automation and continuous process improvement.
- Identify, document, and communicate pre-deployment issues while building strong relationships with Application Product Owners.
- Provide software testing and certification consultation to project managers, developers, and system administrators.
- Implement automated testing solutions to improve efficiency, effectiveness, accuracy, and productivity.
- Maintain testing tools, lab infrastructure, and testing resources while reporting testing status and results.
- Perform Mac application testing and delivery using JAMF Cloud.
- Adhere to Change Management and Release Management policies for Windows and Mac deployments.
