We are seeking a Director, Software Development and Engineering Principal to join our Container Platform Engineering team as we continue our journey to modernize application hosting with scalable, resilient, and secure container infrastructure. This role plays a key part in designing and delivering our private cloud containerization platforms, driving continuous improvement and adoption.
You will be part of the Container Platform team responsible for providing tools, capabilities, and guidance for container platforms using Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) and Kubernetes technologies. This functionality hosts modernized applications leveraging 12-factor design principles. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of supporting, engineering and architecting container platforms with extensive knowledge of dependent technologies including networking, scripting and CI/CD concepts. The candidate will focus his/her efforts on leading the technical roadmaps, design and optimizations of the container platforms. The role will require collaboration with other infrastructure teams to provide scalable, resilient, and secure solutions.
In this role, you will be:
• Architect, design, and implement scalable PCF and Kubernetes based solutions and capabilities for containerized workloads.
• Develop and publish best practices for applications to utilize the PCF and Kubernetes platforms and capabilities.
• Provide technical and architecture leadership and guidance to application development teams.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and platform teams to optimize PCF and Kubernetes capabilities.
• Partner with stakeholders to develop roadmaps and prioritized epics for engineering teams to deliver.
• Analyze current processes and provide and execute opportunities for improvement and automation.

Required Qualifications
• Expert knowledge with Docker and Kubernetes
• Expert knowledge with Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry
• Expert knowledge of cloud capabilities (S3 object storage, secret management)
• Expert knowledge of CI/CD tools and deployment patterns (Blue/Green, Canary)
• Expert knowledge of Linux
• Expert knowledge of GitOps
• Expert knowledge of security standards and practices
• Above Average knowledge of Networking concepts (Load Balancing, DNS, etc.)
• Above Average knowledge of capacity management strategies
• Above Average knowledge in resilient and scalable frameworks
• Leads strategic governance for enterprise-wide security management
• Influences the vision for software development through policies and frameworks that drive efficiency and reliability
• Shapes strategic frameworks for innovative, system design and architecture
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming (Java, .NET)
• Above Average knowledge with YAML/JSON
• Leverages analytical insights to shape policy, drive outcomes, and guide strategy
• Communicates key information with stakeholders across multiple channels to ensure successful outcomes
• Verbally delivers influential presentations that drive action and results
• Achieves visionary goals through strategic leadership and rigorous performance evaluation
