Senior Specialist, Alternative Investments Operations - DAF

DAFgiving360 has entered into a services agreement with Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. for administrative and other services, including human resources. This position will be an employee of Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. and will be subject to its policies and procedures but will report to and be accountable to DAFgiving360 for day-to-day activities.
Our opportunity:
This position, which reports to the Sr. Manager of Alternative Investment Oversight, is primarily responsible for professionally handling account data. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with investment knowledge, strong analytic skills, organizational skills, and investment accounting experience to enhance the team. This successful candidate will need to interact skillfully with external fund administrators, clients, and multiple internal business partners.
What you’ll do
- Assist investment managers with collecting data for investment compliance and performance.
- Enter Alts statements and transactions; review and reconcile transactions daily to ensure integrity (accuracy and completeness) of Alts database; research and resolve discrepancies on a timely basis.
- Maintain desktop procedures and recommend changes as needed.
- Assist with team assignments and projects, quarterly reconciliation, and annual audit.
- Perform other reporting needs as required by the business, ad-hoc analysis, and projects.
- Ensure the timely resolution of donor, financial advisor and/or internal inquiries related to alternative investments oversight.
What you have
- Strong analytical skills with a natural tendency to derive insights from data, spot issues with data, and the resourcefulness to find solutions and overcome barriers.
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Business (accounting, finance, or economics) preferred.
- 3 -5 years of relevant experience in investment accounting, investment analysis, and administration in financial institutions.
- Detail orientation, strong communication, teamwork, and cross-functional relationship building skills.
- Excellent PC skills, including mastery of Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Word.
- Demonstrated understanding of wide range of investment styles, strategies, and security types.
- Enthusiasm and detail-driven, quality and results-focused, inquisitive, and influential.
- Self-starter with strong ability to analyze, research, and resolve problems.
- Highly organized; able to balance multiple processes effectively.
