Manager, Product Management
Your Opportunity
Schwab remains committed to providing increased visibility to career growth opportunities and job requirements. This posting announcement is part of increased transparency and while all qualified applicants will be reviewed and considered, this organization has a preferred candidate identified for this role.
At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.
We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).
As part of the Retail Client Experience and Brokerage Products organization, Schwab’s Brokerage Products team is tasked with ensuring our core brokerage, individual retirement, and small business retirement products meet regulatory requirements, industry standards, and development and execution of innovative product strategies.
We are seeking a Manager who can operate independently across regulatory, operational, and client-experience workstreams. This role is critical to ensuring regulatory compliance, operational alignment, and client-centric solutions across Schwab’s brokerage account products, spanning both IS and AS.
In this role, you will own the regulatory and operational infrastructure behind Schwab's brokerage account products — the agreements, disclosures, forms, and procedures that determine how clients open and maintain accounts. This position plays a key role in supporting our regulatory requirements and provides an opportunity to build subject matter expertise in the brokerage accounts space.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end strategy for the team's forms portfolio — rationalizing the inventory, prioritizing which forms are retired, digitized, or redesigned, and partnering with ENCORE to execute. Define the roadmap and success measures for portfolio simplification.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the NIGO/Paper Reduction team, with a focus on how to move from paper-based to digital-first experiences.
- Own the team’s governance model for Account Agreements and client disclosures, translating regulatory and business change into required language, negotiating scope and sequencing with ERDM and Legal, and managing the change calendar across IS and AS.
- Serve as the operational readiness lead for Individual and Small Business Retirement product changes — assessing downstream process, training, and servicing impacts before launch, and identifying where procedures create client friction or operational risk.
- Own the content strategy for the team's Knowledge Center, using search, usage, and service-call data to determine what employees actually need and redesigning how product information is delivered to the field.
- Lead the annual regulatory change cycle (COLA, contribution and phase-out limits, IRS threshold updates), coordinating Marketing, Knowledge Management, Operations, and Product to deliver accurate updates across all client-facing channels
- Identify and deliver at least one structural improvement per year to how the team manages regulatory change — e.g., automation, intake redesign, or consolidation of duplicate artifacts.
- Monitor emerging rule changes affecting brokerage and retirement accounts and translate them into an operational impact assessment for the team.
What you have
To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required:
- 8+ years of relevant financial services experience, including experience with brokerage or retirement products.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority across Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Technology partners.
- Experience using data to prioritize work and build the case for change.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including comfort presenting to peers and senior leaders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with sound judgment in ambiguous or regulated environments.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and prioritize with minimal guidance to drive the biggest outcomes.
- Strong understanding of business operations and process improvement.
- Embodies the “Through Clients’ Eyes” core value.
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of Schwab’s core brokerage and retirement product offerings.
- Experience with regulatory change management, disclosures, or client agreements.
- Familiarity with digital account opening and servicing experiences.
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
