Schwab Advisor Services (AS) is a recognized leader in custody, trading, technology, and practice management solutions for independent advisory firms. The AS Wealth Services Experience Team oversees the strategic vision and product development of wealth solutions for the AS business—including investment, banking, lending, and trading solutions. The team ensures these offerings align with AS’s business goals and addresses the evolving needs of RIAs and their end-clients. Currently, AS is expanding its platform through a partnership with Forge, which provides access to secondary markets for pre-IPO shares and private market participation. Integrating Forge’s trading infrastructure, proprietary data, analytics, and custody capabilities is essential to enhancing the Schwab Advisor Services ecosystem.

The Director, Private Markets (Forge), Wealth Services Experience, must possess deep expertise in private markets, IPOs, and specialized funds, as well as a thorough understanding of the RIA/client relationship. This role is pivotal in integrating Forge’s private market solutions into the AS platform, expanding access for RIAs and their clients.

This position leads product development for the Forge integration for AS, collaborating with digital and strategy teams both within and outside AS. Key responsibilities include defining the launch offer, executing the go-to-market strategy, and providing ongoing stewardship to ensure sustained value for advisors and clients. The Director also shapes the product roadmap, drives adoption and education, supports ongoing maintenance, and maintains ownership of the AS client experience.

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as the primary product owner for Schwab Advisor Services, collaborating with the Forge Integration Management Office to champion Advisor Services’ specific needs and ensure the Forge solution is effectively integrated for advisors.
  • Partner with Advisor Services leadership to define service models, technology solutions, and segmentation strategies for Forge within the advisor base.
  • Apply your expertise across Schwab Advisor Services—including investment management, estate and retirement planning, lending, and trading—to ensure the Forge private markets platform aligns seamlessly with the broader Advisor Services offering.
  • Champion the Advisor Services offering by clearly communicating the benefits and features of the Forge platform to advisors and their clients.
  • Drive the strategic growth of a private markets offering for Advisor Services by identifying and implementing new features and product enhancements that expand access to private markets for the RIA community.

In addition to a base salary, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities. 

What you have


Required Experience:

  • 10+ years of financial services industry experience, with a minimum of 2 years focused on RIAs or Private Markets clients
  • Energetic, solution-oriented mindset with a skillset of attracting, retaining, and growing relationships with RIAs.
  • Exceptional ability to uncover and address complex client needs, leveraging strong consultative skills and a deep understanding of the wealth management & private markets landscape.
  • Expertise in communicating the distinctive value and solutions available through Schwab for the RIA model, empowering Advisors to better serve their clients and achieve growth.
  • Demonstrated success in driving results, measured by client satisfaction, asset growth, and adoption of Schwab’s wealth management solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly with RIAs, AS Service & Operations, and internal partners.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including the ability to handle client needs with tact and diplomacy.
  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with IPOs, Private Markets and/or the needs of Accredited Investors and Qualified Purchasers.
  • In-depth knowledge of Schwab Advisor Services products, services, complex subject matters, policies, and procedures as well as demonstrated brokerage industry knowledge.
