The Operations Strategy and Transformation Services (OSTS) is responsible for transforming Operational Services into a highly scalable organization, while creating a culture of excellence in how we create shared value for clients, manage risk, cultivate talent, and collaborate with partners across the firm. Within the OTSTS we have established the Transformation Tools & Design (TTD) which provides tools and solutions that deliver process documentation and analysis to drive: 1) Business Process Transformation; 2) Continuous Improvement; and 3) Risk & Controls and Business Continuity Efforts. We are seeking a strategic-minded process analyst to join the Transformation Tools & Design team.
The Transformation Tools & Design team has a need for a process management leader to analyze and document the current state and design the future state of selected business processes. You will accomplish this by leading collaborative workshops that include corporate executives, process owners, and subject matter experts in process discovery activities such as process identification and inventory, process assessment, process discovery, and process analysis.
Additionally, you will support the development of the corporate design and execution plan for process transformation work lead out of the OSTS organization and work with Schwab Technology partners and agile teams to align business needs with developer goals.
Success will result in a better understanding of process from a business function vs. business unit viewpoint, enable transparency around current processes and improvement opportunities, and improve the Operations Risk exposure through better process documentation and understanding.
What you're good at:
- Leading integrated, cross-functional teams (business, technology, shared services) to design the future-state business and solution structure. Guide business owners on solution choices, selection criteria and trade-offs. Define the implications of the selection to existing operating model, new roles and org implications, and define associated operating processes.
- Acting as primary thought partner on process design initiatives and process strategy in support of broader business transformation objectives
- Challenging established processes and systems to modernize and simplify business infrastructure
- Supporting the consistent application of design best practices and foster the adoption of a continuous improvement mindset across Schwab
- Facilitating workshops, strategy sessions, and problem-solving events that drive alignment, decision-making, and action
- Producing ROI projections and reporting for recommendation around potential design and process changes
- Will be responsible for developing the storyboard and building the comprehensive communication strategy for specific engagement deliverables
- Understanding the business value inherent in various technology (e.g. AI, RPA, Business Technology) capabilities and determine how to apply them to particular processes to increase enterprise performance.
- Identifying barriers to change and partner with leaders to remove roadblocks, resolve cross-functional issues, and sustain adoption.
- Developing KPI frameworks, dashboards, and reporting routines to measure process performance, track benefits, and reinforce accountability.
What you have

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of related experience
- 15+ years of total experience
- 4 year college degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics or business related field
- Formal Lean and Six Sigma Black Belt certification
- Extensive experience leading continuous improvement, operational excellence, business transformation, or process optimization initiatives
- Proven ability to analyze, document, and model complex current-state business processes through effective facilitation, using tools such as Blueworks Live, Celonis, and Business Intelligence reports.
- Future-state design skills, including the ability to apply design thinking, process modeling, and other discovery and design tools to create scalable operations & client-centered solutions.
- Demonstrated success delivering measurable business outcomes such as cost reduction, cycle time improvement, risk reduction, quality improvement, capacity creation, or enhanced client experience.
- Executive-level communication, storytelling, and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex information for senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional facilitation and workshop leadership skills, including the ability to guide cross-functional teams through problem definition, solution design, and decision-making.
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders, build coalitions, and lead cross-functional teams through ambiguity and change.
- Proven ability to deliver sensitive information and collaborate with key leaders on controversial subjects
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate Degree preferred
- Familiarity with statistical tools and software i.e.; Minitab, SPSS
- Project, program, or change management certification such as PMP, Prosci, Agile, or equivalent experience
