The Model Risk Oversight (MRO)Program Managementteamresideswithin the Corporate Risk Management organization at Charles Schwab.Weareresponsible formodel risk management at the firm. This includesdeveloping,maintaining, and communicating proper modelrisk policies,standards, andproceduresto those who buildandvalidatemodels across thefirm.We alsoensure thatthe model risk program is effective and compliant with regulatoryexpectationand industry bestpractice.
We are seeking an individual contributor responsible for assuring the completeness and quality of model validation activities,developingandmaintainingmodel risk policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory and industry standards, and designing and delivering associated training programs.
What you have
Required Qualifications:
- Five or more yearsof experience in quantitative modeling field as model developer or validator
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, withdemonstratedability to build consensus across stakeholders
- Experience developing,maintainingand interpreting policy requirements
- Solid understanding of model governance frameworks and regulatory requirements applicable to large US banks, including experience applying guidance such as SR 11-7, SR 15-18, SR 15-19,Enhanced Prudential Standards
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree inquantitativediscipline (e.g.,statistics, mathematics, physics, economics)
