About the Team

Charles Schwab Trust Bank delivers trust and custody services supporting Retirement Plan Services, independent recordkeepers, and investment advisors. The team partners across investments, operations, and compliance to provide solutions that meet the needs of retirement plan providers and their participants.

What you have


What You’ll Do (Outcomes & Impact)

Trust & Product Governance

  • Own administration, oversight, and governance of Collective Trust Funds (CTFs)
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance across trade approvals, reconciliations, and regulatory filings
  • Manage vendor relationships and partner cross-functionally to deliver consistent execution
  • Review and validate new account documentation for completeness and regulatory alignment

Regulatory Expertise & Compliance

  • Serve as regulatory subject matter expert for trust, custody, and retirement plan requirements
  • Lead responses to regulatory inquiries and reporting (DOL, PBGC, IRS, SEC)
  • Identify and report abandoned plans and support AML-related inquiries
  • Prepare and oversee regulatory filings, including Form 5500 (Schedule H)

Risk, Audit & Controls

  • Support internal and external audits with accurate and timely documentation
  • Prepare reporting for management and governance committees
  • Maintain strong controls and documentation to ensure audit readiness

Policy & Governance

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance compliant policies and procedures
  • Lead biennial policy and committee charter reviews
  • Ensure ongoing alignment with regulatory requirements and fiduciary standards

Regulatory & Technical Expertise

  • Applies deep knowledge of ERISA, retirement plan regulations, and trust/custody operations
  • Demonstrates expertise in Form 5500 preparation (large plans) and trust reconciliation processes

  • Takes accountability for governance, accuracy, and risk mitigation

  • Analyzes complex regulatory and operational issues to deliver compliant solutions

  • Communicates complex regulatory and operational concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders
  • Builds relationships across internal teams, vendors, and regulatory partners
