The Fundamental Data Master (FDM) People Leader will lead the product management function for a critical enterprise data capability within the Reference Data Platform Strategy and Support organization. Reporting to the RDPSS Senior Team Manager, this leader will manage and develop the FDM product team while setting clear product direction, strengthening execution, and ensuring FDM delivers reliable, high-quality fundamental data to consumers across the firm.

FDM ingests and manages data that is distributed and used widely throughout the firm. This information supports evaluation of a security’s intrinsic value by providing related economic, financial, and other qualitative and quantitative factors.

The role is accountable for balancing FDM product strategy and delivery with platform modernization, legacy retirement, production stability, data quality, risk reduction, and stakeholder outcomes across business and technology partners.

What you'll do:

• Lead, coach, and develop the FDM product management team, establishing clear priorities, accountability, role clarity, and growth plans.
• Own the FDM product vision, roadmap, initiative portfolio, and outcome-based priorities in alignment with Reference Data Platform strategy and enterprise objectives.
• Partner with technology, operations, data governance, architecture, risk, vendor management, and downstream consumers to translate business needs into executable plans.
• Drive FDM modernization and legacy retirement outcomes, including migration readiness, dependency management, consumer adoption, and controlled decommissioning.
• Provide leadership for production issues by defining the problem, impacted systems and consumers, incident population, risk, workaround, resolution plan, ownership, and follow-through.
• Establish strong product operating rhythms across discovery, prioritization, planning, delivery, release readiness, controls, and post-implementation measurement.
• Ensure the team maintains clear requirements, decision records, data definitions, business rules, consumer impacts, and operational support documentation.
• Use data to evaluate product health, delivery progress, quality trends, operational risk, capacity, and realization of expected business outcomes.
• Communicate concise, transparent updates to senior leaders, clearly outlining progress, decisions, risks, dependencies, tradeoffs, and next steps.
• Build trusted relationships across FDM consumers and partner teams, creating shared understanding of priorities and resolving cross-functional blockers.
• Support vendor and data-source strategy, including service quality, contractual capabilities, data rights, issue management, and alignment to target-state architecture.
• Champion continuous improvement, practical automation, reusable knowledge, and responsible adoption of emerging capabilities that improve team productivity and data quality.

What you have

Required Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of security master, fundamental, fund, pricing, or market reference data and how authoritative data supports front-, middle-, and back-office processes.
• Experience leading product delivery through agile methods, including discovery, requirements, backlog management, planning, release readiness, and outcome measurement.
• Knowledge of complex data platforms, batch and real-time integrations, data lineage, vendor feeds, data quality controls, and downstream consumer dependencies.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of relevant product, data, financial services, technology, or operations experience, including meaningful leadership responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Demonstrated people leadership experience, including coaching, mentorship, talent development, and supporting the development of high-performing teams.
• Strong product management leadership with experience defining product strategy, roadmaps, measurable outcomes, and prioritized backlogs in a complex enterprise environment.
• Ability to balance strategic change with production stability, operational commitments, regulatory expectations, and delivery capacity.
• Sound business judgment and the ability to make clear decisions amid competing priorities, ambiguity, risk, and cross-team dependencies.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills across business, technology, operations, risk, and senior leadership audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with experience using data to size issues, identify root causes, assess risk, and guide product decisions.
• Experience leading product teams supporting mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, equities, fixed income, options, or related investment products.
• Experience with FDM capabilities such as Market Data Load Framework, Mutual Fund Market Place Maintenance, Mutual Fund Data Source, or S&P Capital IQ Xpressfeed processing.
• Experience with platform modernization, legacy retirement, data conversion, consumer migration, and operational readiness.
• Familiarity with SQL, Oracle, Informatica, MongoDB, Jira, Confluence, and enterprise data governance practices.
• Financial services or trading background; securities licenses are helpful but not required.
