Your Opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location.

The Management Reporting team develops, governs, and delivers internal and external financial and client-metric reporting that enables data-driven decision-making for executive leadership, senior management, and the Board of Directors. External reporting includes monthly activity, growth in client assets and accounts, and asset management and administration fee metrics. In addition, the team partners closely with technology groups and other stakeholders to enhance data quality, strengthen controls, and advance business intelligence capabilities and self-service analytics.
The Senior Manager will lead key management reporting deliverables end-to-end, partnering with Finance, Product, Operations, Risk/Compliance, and Technology to understand business strategy and changes, translate them into reporting requirements, and drive continuous improvements to reporting processes, data governance, and outputs. This role provides oversight for reporting standards, controls, and prioritization across competing business needs, and may lead and mentor analysts and managers within the function.

What you’ll do:

•    Lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution for management reporting and executive/Board-ready deliverables, ensuring alignment to business priorities.
•    Establish and maintain governance, controls, and documentation to ensure accuracy, integrity, and consistency of financial and client metrics across reporting channels.
•    Own metric or influence definitions and business logic; identify and resolve reporting issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive policy/standard updates through appropriate review and approval forums.
•    Partner with Technology to modernize reporting architecture, automate workflows, and improve data pipelines, scalability, and auditability (including requirements, testing, and deployment readiness).
•    Serve as a senior finance partner and subject matter expert, providing insights, narrative, and recommendations to executives, business leaders, and investor relations based on performance trends and drivers.

•    Lead cross-functional initiatives and ad hoc analyses (e.g., benchmarking, strategic deep dives, executive presentations), and coach team members through ambiguous, high-visibility work.

What you have

To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Qualifications

•    BA/BS required; MBA, MS Finance/Accounting, or CPA/CMA preferred.
•    8+ years of experience in management reporting, financial analysis, and/or accounting (audit experience a plus), including demonstrated leadership of complex deliverables and stakeholders.
•    Brokerage and/or financial services industry experience strongly preferred.
•    Strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting, and financial reporting/planning principles, including control design and documentation standards for recurring reporting.
•    Experience with enterprise planning/reporting tools (e.g., PlanIt/TM1, PeopleSoft or similar) and business intelligence/visualization platforms; able to partner effectively with data/technology teams.
•    Advanced Excel and strong PowerPoint skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear executive-ready narratives; proficiency with standard productivity tools (Word, Adobe Acrobat, etc.).
•    Excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting to and influencing senior leaders.
•    Strong analytical, organizational, and program/project management skills, including prioritization across multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
•    Proven ability to lead through influence and/or people leadership, coach and develop talent, and thrive in a fast-paced, time-sensitive, and highly visible environment.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
