Reporting to the Head of Advisor Services, this leader will define and advance AI strategy across advisor-facing capabilities and internal tools to enhance the client experience. The role offers the opportunity to shape AI in wealth management by turning Schwab’s scale, brand, advisor relationships, and data advantages into sustained market differentiation across a complex, fast-evolving ecosystem.
Key Outcomes
- Define the AI strategy for Advisor Services across advisor-facing capabilities and internal tools that elevate the client experience.
- Deliver AI solutions at scale that improve advisor productivity, client outcomes, and business growth.
- Shape platform, infrastructure, and partnership strategies that position Advisor Services for sustainable success in an AI-enabled market.
- Establish high standards for advisor-facing AI while building competitive advantage through ecosystem connectivity, data-enabled differentiation, and scalable innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead AI strategy and execution across Advisor Services, aligning innovation with business objectives and client experience goals.
- Drive delivery across a complex, matrixed environment in partnership with digital, engineering, field, and enterprise data teams.
- Oversee build, buy, and partner decisions, including investment priorities, platform choices, and ecosystem relationships.
- Shape AI governance, model standards, and risk practices for advisor-facing capabilities with enterprise leaders.
- Influence senior stakeholders across business, technology, data, risk, legal, and compliance to drive alignment and execution.
- Lead external engagement with AI providers, wealth-tech partners, regulators, and industry organizations.
- Build a high-performing organization and deliver outcomes that strengthen retention, acquisition, growth, adoption, partnership value, and efficiency.
What you have
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree is preferred.
- Significant executive leadership experience in financial services, wealth management, fintech, technology, or a similarly relevant industry.
- Demonstrated success leading AI, data, digital, platform, or transformation strategies at enterprise scale in regulated environments.
- Proven ability to lead large, complex, cross-functional organizations and work across product, engineering, data, risk, legal, and compliance.
- Strong understanding of strategic partnerships, governance, risk management, and responsible AI for advisor- or client-facing capabilities.
Preferred Experience
- Executive leadership experience in wealth management, financial services, fintech, or a related industry, with strong knowledge of advisor platforms, product ecosystems, and client service models.
- Experience developing and scaling AI, data, digital, or platform strategies in complex, highly regulated environments.
- Track record of leading enterprise initiatives across business, product, engineering, data, risk, legal, and compliance organizations.
- Experience evaluating and executing build, buy, and partner strategies with technology providers, strategic partners, or platform ecosystems.
- Familiarity with the independent advisor, RIA, or custody ecosystem and with AI governance and external stakeholder engagement.
