In this role you will have an opportunity to work on Retail Trading platforms across Schwab ecosystems. You will be asked to work on front-end trading applications and back-end services to support these applications.

  • Design, develop, implement, support, and maintain applications based on business requirements, using approved technologies and coding standards.
  • Develop effective solutions that are in line with the organization's vision. Continuously improve software engineering practices, processes, and services.
  • Participate in strategic planning discussions with technical, business and client stakeholders. Actively participate in product design and development sessions.
  • Partner with product owners and the scrum team to understand the desired solution requirements and capabilities.
  • Stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies and participate in internal technology communities.
  • Collaborate with team members on projects.

What you have


To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications

            Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
•          Hands-on coding experience with JS, TypeScript and C#
•          Hands-on experience with web application frameworks such as Stencil JS and Angular
•          Hands-on experience writing unit test using Jest and NUnit
•          Hands-on experience developing trade ticket to support Equities, Options, complex option strategies, Mutual Funds, Crypto and                                    advanced orders
•          Have worked with streaming platform for real-time quote data
•          Have experience creating complex web components
•          Have experience integrating simple and complex web components
•          Have experience working in Agile methodology
•          Experience in working with application deployed to Pivotal Cloud Foundry
•          Experience in developing single page web applications
•          Understanding of object-oriented and relational database design
•          Understanding of software theory and algorithms, computational theory and practice, software engineering lifecycle/design, database                            design and data storage, network security and architecture, and ethical programming
•          Experience using AI tools such as Copilot to write, debug, and refine code.
•          Working knowledge of higher-level framework facilities like Asynchronous Programming, LINQ, Threads, Parallel Processing &                                        Concurrency and Security
•          Understanding and knowledge of development in REST style web services across multiple Web API platforms, with or without MVC                                design.
•          Ambition to learn and utilize emerging technologies while working in a stimulating environment
•          Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

            Experience with container technologies (Kubernetes or OpenShift) and cloud migrations
•          Experience with public cloud such as GCP or AWS
•          Knowledge of messaging technologies like IBM MQ, Solace MQ, MSMQ and Rabbit MQ is a plus
•          Evaluates moderately complex problems by analyzing data and spotting trends
•          Recognizes industry trends to foresee opportunities and challenges
•          Contributes ideas for new approaches or technologies within a defined scope
•          Influences peers and collaborates across teams to improve workflow efficiency
•          Verbally conveys complex concepts and engages peers effectively
•          Acts with integrity, responsibly handles information, and communicates with accuracy

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
