The Bank Sales team is seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) as dedicated support for our Business Development Officers. The BDM will assist RBMs in driving a deeper understanding of our Bank lending products and services among internal partners and Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) who utilize Schwab to custody their clients’ assets.

What you are good at:

  • Qualified candidates are aspiring financial professionals with an opportunity to grow within Schwab Bank to help promote holistic financial planning with an emphasis on liability management
  • Create reporting to support BDOs in developing new business
  • Supervise BDO sales leads, and work with internal partners to provide pipeline management support
  • Act as secondary business development and sales support resource for all Schwab clients and prospects when the BDO is unavailable
  • Proactively support BDOs in lead generation and pipeline maintenance through relationship management, CRM proficiency, and client follow-up
  • Aid in the development of presentations to support educational efforts in the field, along with presenting material directly to field when BDO unavailable
  • Assist in implementing regional marketing campaigns while delivering ongoing feedback to internal marketing teams regarding execution & engagement
  • Strategize with BDOs to recommend Bank solutions based on goals and parameters outlined by clients
  • Provide ongoing feedback to internal partners regarding new products, services, pricing, and marketing support
  • Ability to communicate timely and relevant information while proactively anticipating the needs of BDO teammates
  • Proficiency in client service excellence
  • Promotes holistic financial planning process to help clients succeed withing both sides of the balance sheet
  • Ability to adapt quickly to support teammates & clients
  • Partnering with outside vendors to strengthen relationships, while maintaining compliance standards
  • Excellent priority management skills in real time

What you have

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relationship management experience in developing enhanced affiliations with Bank or Brokerage field partners to support business development activities
  • Shown ability to influence others, provide enhanced sales closing skills and deliver specific product and technical knowledge for all Bank offerings, while providing an excellent experience
  • In depth financial background in both home lending and asset-based lending
  • Excellent analytical skills, including the business perspective to anticipate issues and their impact on other areas of the company and to actively ensure that their impact is addressed
  • Strong internal and external customer focus, including ability to think in terms of client experience/perspective
  • High confidence level in public speaking, as well as strong presentation skills. Ability to foster strong engagement & collaboration within meetings.
  • Proven confidence with technology and the ability to understand & teach new systems/applications with ease
  • Proactive daily self-development
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills
  • Flexibility to relocate when an opportunity presents itself
  • Bachelor’s degree is a plus
  • Active Series 7 and 63/66 preferred licensing or willingness to obtain within 6-12 months of employment

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
