Charles Schwab's Digital Retail Integrated Experiences (DRIE) is centralized under the Digital Retail organization. The purpose of DRIE is to drive integration and streamlined strategic experiences into Schwab’s digital properties ensuring consistency and ease for our diverse client base. DRIE is also responsible for managing key international digital initiatives and other partner initiatives on behalf of the Digital Retail organization. The Digital Messaging Channel Team under DRIE provides performant, secure, scalable platform and channels that empower all Schwab clients by delivering proactive, personalized, conversational messaging.

We work, think and approach problems differently than your traditional financial services firm, and we aim to change both how Schwab operates and how the industry serves investors. The Digital Messaging team is responsible for the platform that delivers billions of service, subscription, and promotional marketing messages to our digital channels to keep clients and advisors informed in support of their financial goals. In this role, you will support the digital messaging channel as an acting lead working with a development team to resolve production issues.  You will also contribute to the auditing aspects regrading digital messaging communications ensuring our compliance with firm and industry regulations.  You will also work alongside the team of product managers who will implement tools, processes and reporting to ensure a performant, scalable, and reliable system.

The team is responsible for:


Strategy - Envision the future and build the near-term and long-term outcome-oriented roadmaps for the infrastructure of the digital messaging platform and channels.
Execution – Own and drive the definition, creation, development, and implementation of infrastructure solutions that support the health of our platform and channel.
Client service – Ensure scalable digital messaging solutions to ensure we can manage potentially scaled messaging volumes while maintaining a high level of health.
Partnership – Collaborate with technology, production support, and other upstream partner teams in delivering digital messaging value to our clients.

Responsibilities:

The Channel Health & Operations Sr. Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the ongoing performance, scalability, availability, and regulatory alignment of Schwab’s Digital Messaging channels. This role ensures the channel remains healthy, compliant, and optimized by partnering closely with technology, production support, and product management teams.

Channel Health & Operational Excellence

  • Contribute to developing, monitoring, and reporting on key metrics related to channel performance, availability, security, and scalability.
  • Support auditing and compliance activities for digital messaging in alignment with firm and industry regulations.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (technology, production support, upstream systems) to ensure issue resolution and maintain channel stability.
  • Actively seek input that validates needs and shapes measurable outcomes.
  • Document key outcomes and address client experience problems directly to avoid recurrence.
  • Act proactively to prevent future issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Gather both qualitative and quantitative inputs before making decisions.
  • Escalate decisions that exceed ownership or expertise
  • Maintain productivity and clarity when information is uncertain

Product & Delivery Support

  • Work with Product Managers across teams to support execution of roadmaps and operational improvements.
  • Contribute input into OKRs and measurable outcomes for channel performance.
  • Support backlog hygiene and readiness, ensuring detailed understanding of dependencies and risks.
  • Assist in validating needs with partner teams and surfacing risks clearly and early.
  • Evaluate solutions for usability, feasibility, and viability.
  • Prioritize based on business value with support.

Stakeholder Communication & Engagement

  • Create clear, structured documentation for scope, decisions, and plans.
  • Contribute relevant and concise updates to leadership and partner teams.
  • Tailor communication to various audiences and participate in standard communication rituals.
  • Act as a channel evangelist, sharing knowledge and promoting consistent understanding of channel operations.
  • Support the development of junior team members when applicable.
  • Share learnings and help build resilience.

What you have

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree , or equivalent work experience (MBA preferred).
  • 3+ years Product Manager experience.
  • Skilled at working cross-functionally with technology, service, marketing and product teams to lead the entire lifecycle of a digital platform.
  • Experience with Tableau, Splunk, Confluence, Jira, Rally are required.
  • Schwab's current/past systems knowledge/experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Curiosity, a can-do attitude, and the ability to learn quickly and thrive in a complex, dynamic environment.
  • Self-starter with outstanding organizational skills and ability to track multiple project deliverables with minimal direction.
  • Confidence communicating and tailoring messaging to a variety of audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Own a product‑area backlog and align a lightweight roadmap to OKRs; lead quarterly planning and report progress/risks clearly to stakeholders.
  • Make timely, evidence‑based decisions—balancing trade‑offs, justifying choices with data, and escalating complex cross‑team calls appropriately.
  • Evangelize Agile and Lean practices across the team—drive delivery of measurable increments and coordinate PI planning inputs and dependencies.
  • Synthesize market, competitive, and client usage insights into clear problem statements that shape priorities and opportunities.
  • Experience with creation of Service Level Agreements, OKRS, and KPIs preferred.
  • Focus on outcomes and use OKRs to get results for our clients, firm, and team.
  • Support the generation of new ideas based on data, analytics, insights, market trends, and interactions with partners, clients, and prospects.
  • Work cross-functionally with technical, design, business, and compliance counterparts to define product release requirements and investigate production issues as they arise.
  • Skilled at working cross-functionally with technology, service, marketing and product teams to lead the entire lifecyle of a digital platform.
  • Curiosity, a can-do attitude and the ability to learn quickly and thrive in a complex, dynamic environment
  • Good understanding and/or experience with financial services regulations is a plus
  • Ability to execute brilliantly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in creating clarity in the performance, security and availability of a platform and/or channel as well as how to optimize the client experience in relation to performance, security and availability
  • Highly developed communication and presentations skills with a superior ability to effectively communicate and present complex concepts and issues to leadership teams.

In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
