Enterprise Middleware owns foundational integration products that enable secure, reliable service-to-service communication across Schwab’s ecosystem. This role leads product strategy and lifecycle management for core platforms including Service Registry, Enterprise Gateways, Event Streaming and shared libraries, products that power thousands of applications and are critical to Schwab’s cloud, resiliency, security, and AI initiatives.
As a Senior Manager, IT Product Management Lead, you will define product vision, prioritize investments, and drive execution across complex, cross-functional programs spanning engineering, cloud, security, and application teams. You will operate at enterprise scale, aligning platform roadmaps to business outcomes, accelerating modernization, and enabling AI-driven development across the firm.
This is a high-impact opportunity to operate at the intersection of product, architecture, and execution, owning platforms that form the backbone of Schwab’s digital ecosystem while driving enterprise-wide standardization, scalable product patterns, and AI-enabled transformation to improve developer experience, delivery speed, and platform reliability at scale.
- Own end-to-end product strategy and lifecycle for Enterprise Middleware platforms, defining vision, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes aligned to cloud, resiliency, and AI priorities.
- Lead AI-driven product transformation, embedding AI-DLC practices, scaling reusable AI assets, and driving measurable improvements in developer productivity, speed, and quality.
- Drive enterprise product standardization, scaling reusable platform patterns and practices to reduce fragmentation and improve developer onboarding and experience.
- Lead complex, cross-functional execution, aligning engineering, cloud, security, and application teams to deliver mission-critical initiatives without business disruption.
- Define and evolve integration platform products (Service Registry, Gateways, Event Streaming, messaging, libraries), ensuring scalability, reliability, and broad enterprise adoption.
- Translate business and enterprise needs into product strategies, prioritized backlogs, and engineering-ready requirements, ensuring clear linkage between business outcomes and delivery execution.
- Drive cloud modernization and platform evolution, including migration of legacy capabilities to cloud-native architectures and enabling scalable traffic patterns.
- Establish and track product success metrics (adoption, performance, resiliency, developer experience, productivity), leveraging data-driven insights to continuously optimize outcomes.
- Influence architecture, security, and governance decisions, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, compliance requirements, and long-term scalability.
- Drive data-informed product decision-making, analyzing trends, defining strategic goals, and aligning product investments to long-term business outcomes.
- Build organizational product capability, refining product management practices, scaling knowledge, and enabling teams to take on increased ownership and leadership.
- Act as the single product leader for mission-critical platforms, driving clarity, decision-making, and execution across ambiguous, high-impact initiatives.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience across software engineering, platform leadership, or product management roles, with demonstrated ownership of enterprise-scale platforms.
- Demonstrated leadership in AI-enabled delivery and product innovation, including integrating AI tools, workflows, or platforms to improve SDLC outcomes and developer productivity.
- Proven experience leading end-to-end product lifecycle management, including product strategy, roadmap definition, prioritization, execution, and enterprise adoption.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business needs and client requirements into product strategy, prioritized backlogs, and engineering execution, with clear linkage to measurable outcomes.
- Experience driving large-scale, cross-functional programs, aligning engineering, cloud, security, and business stakeholders to deliver complex initiatives at enterprise scale.
- 5+ years of experience designing, building, and operating distributed service integration platforms (e.g., service registries, messaging frameworks, service buses, or enterprise shared libraries), with deep expertise in service-to-service communication, service discovery, and high-throughput distributed systems.
- Strong expertise in distributed systems and API-driven integration platforms, with the ability to define scalable, reusable product strategies for enterprise adoption.
- Hands-on experience leading cloud modernization of legacy platforms into cloud-native, containerized architectures, including traffic migration, scalability, and capacity planning.
- Solid foundation in security engineering, including cryptographic standards, certificate/key management, and enterprise-scale remediation of deprecated protocols.
- Proven ability to lead architecture and execution across concurrent, cross-organizational programs with complex dependencies, using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Scaled Agile).
- Strong record of operational rigor, including automated testing, observability, reliability engineering, and production readiness, with the ability to proactively identify systemic risks and drive mitigation.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence across business partners, engineering teams, architects, and infrastructure organizations, including globally distributed teams and offshore delivery models.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to deliver clear, persuasive messaging and drive alignment across executive stakeholders, engineering teams, and business partners.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage data, define strategic goals, and influence business and technology decisions, aligning product investments to long-term enterprise outcomes.
- Strong strategic thinking, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, high-complexity environments and drive enterprise outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to define and track product success metrics (adoption, performance, resiliency, developer productivity, and experience) and use data to drive continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading enterprise platform transformation in regulated financial services environments, balancing innovation with resiliency, risk, and compliance requirements.
- Deep experience driving enterprise-scale AI adoption (AI-DLC), including scaling reusable AI assets, workflows, or agent-based solutions across multiple teams and organizations.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot), including prompt engineering, workflow integration, and usage optimization to accelerate engineering delivery.
- Experience designing and building AI agents, custom skills, or agent-based frameworks (e.g., Copilot extensions, MCP servers, or equivalent frameworks) to automate engineering and operational workflows.
- Track record of standardizing platform patterns, practices, and reusable product capabilities to improve developer experience, scalability, and operational efficiency at enterprise scale.
- Experience influencing enterprise architecture and governance decisions, shaping long-term platform strategy, standards, and adoption models.
- Strong background in defining integration capabilities (API gateways, service registries, event streaming and messaging platforms) as reusable, productized enterprise services.
- Proven ability to drive enterprise-wide adoption of product capabilities, demonstrating measurable improvements in speed, quality, resilience, or cost efficiency.
- Proficiency in Java or C#/.NET, with understanding of enterprise library design, versioning, and backward compatibility across large consumer ecosystems.
- Experience working across globally distributed teams, including large-scale offshore coordination and cross-time-zone collaboration.
- Experience building and scaling product management practices and organizational capabilities, including improving processes, mentoring teams, and elevating product maturity across organizations.
