Your Opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).

Charles Schwab's Digital Retail product team builds key experiences for clients and maintains digital channels for them to build their wealth and manage their financial outcomes. We work, think and approach problems differently than your traditional financial services firm, and we aim to change both how Schwab operates and how the industry serves investors. We collaborate with user experience design, product, client service, operations, and technology teams across the enterprise to build digital products and tools that clients love.

We are looking for a senior, high‑expectation Product Owner who thrives in a fast‑moving environment, is comfortable with ambiguity, and can own outcomes—not just requirements. You will be expected to exercise strong judgment, challenge assumptions, and make clear prioritization decisions in a visible, dependency‑heavy space.

What You’ll Do

  • Own product outcomes and prioritization for Client Summary on Schwab.com, a highly visible, dependency‑heavy experience.
  • Lead as the Product Owner across planning, delivery, and decision forums—setting direction, framing trade‑offs, and driving clarity amid ambiguity.
  • Make and defend prioritization decisions by aligning partners around evidence, client impact, and shared outcomes.
  • Challenge assumptions and surface risks early, asking the hard questions needed to avoid downstream issues and rework.
  • Partner deeply with engineering and design, shaping solutions through strong product judgment, UX perspective, and technical understanding.
  • Balance speed, quality, and risk, adapting plans as inputs change while maintaining momentum and accountability.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders and leadership, translating complexity into actionable narratives.

What you have

Required qualifications:

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with significant time as a hands‑on Product Owner for digital or web platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at a senior level, owning decisions and outcomes in fast‑paced, high‑visibility environments.
  • Strong judgment in ambiguous situations, with a track record of making sound trade‑offs across competing priorities.
  • Confidence leading cross‑functional groups, including engineers, designers, and business partners, and aligning stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • A challenger mindset—comfortable questioning the status quo, testing assumptions, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Solid technical acumen, including:
    • Ability to debug and validate behavior using browser dev tools
    • Familiarity with APIs, integrations, and system constraints
    • Comfort partnering with engineers on feasibility, sequencing, and trade‑offs
  • Experience with Everest and the FEC process is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
