The Container Platform Organization (CPO) within the Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) group of Schwab Technology Services (STS) is responsible for the operations of the on-premises platforms of choice for running custom applications. The CPO team manages those platforms, engages with the application-development community, and develops processes and applications to ease in the operation and adoption of those platforms of choice.
As a manger, cloud engineering, you will be working within that team and reporting to the director of CPO to help map out the blueprint of the platforms and supporting technologies, coordinating with technology leads and product owners and helping shape the future of the container space within STS. You will be owning change management reviews for the entire Platforms organization, as well as be looked to as a subject matter expert in non-functional requirements such as disaster recovery, control adherence, and program delivery.
Responsibilities include:
- Support change management process for the parent Platforms organization
- Lead major initiatives that require engagement from the wider STS community
- Provide product management for the container space within Schwab technoloy
What you have
To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required Qualifications:
- A BA/BS degree and 7+ years of work or project experience working in a large technology organization including 3+ years in the financial industry
- Disaster recovery requirement gathering and implementation
- Strong problem determination and resolution skills as well as problem and change management disciplines
- Ability to design and manage change management processes
- 5+ years of experience in Scrum and/or Kanban enabled team settings
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with monitoring and logging solutions, such as Grafana, Splunk, and VMWare DX
- Experience with Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry
- Chaos testing implenetation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Eagerness to learn and support new technologies and new methodologies
- An ability to think strategically
- Engage with many teams working on a single goal
