The Cloud Engineer - Manager will have the opportunity to help shape the next generation Cloud solutions for Charles Schwab & Co. The ideal candidate will have experience in cloud service implementation in GCP as well as awareness of the various in Azure and AWS. They will have experience supporting containers, serverless compute, and various compute and foundational components. to support virtualized workloads across a variety of technology and service domains. This will be hands-on engineering and support of Schwab's Cloud architectures applied to our initiatives.

  • Analyzing and evaluating engineering design and making decisions within general parameters under little supervision
  • Ability to communicate well with teams and leaders of the organization; have good listening skills
  • This position requires good interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills 
  • Strong technology affinity and experience, as well as attention to detail is required. 
  • A willingness to learn and grow is a must. Teammate with strong collaborative qualities and a positive demeanor.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment across multiple time zones and locations. 
  • Previous experience within technology regulations and governance environments. 
  • Autonomously capable of understanding the customer ask and delivering timely troubleshooting details, as well as solutions to the customer
  • Self-motivated, solutions oriented and pro-active.

What you have


To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience supporting technology environments that in include GCP compute services.
  • Work experience with GPC services, GKE, and other compute related services.
  • Experience rolling out Terraform modules and terraform module updates for GKE and other compute services.
  • Work experience with DevOps tool suites; examples include Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jenkins, Concourse etc.
  • Experience with operational processes to ensure high availability and service of entire technology stack
  • Experience troubleshooting with troubleshooting build and even operational errors to assist customers with issues around GKE and upgrades.
  • Experience with supporting mission critical, 24x7 systems
  • Troubleshooting skills in cloud and hybrid cloud to data center service deployments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, related degree OR related practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum, experience adopting or leading continuous integration and continuous delivery concepts and frameworks
  • Experience with supporting mission critical, 24x7 systems
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry is a plus.
