Tax & Cost Basis Operations (TACO) is part of the Custody & Asset Services division of Operational Services. We are dedicated to leading a culture that delivers timely and accurate tax & cost basis data and tools in our effort to provide clients with an industry leading tax experience that empowers informed financial decisions.

The Senior Specialist will assist with various aspects of tax and cost basis reporting processes and require a high degree knowledge of related systems to enable process improvement and transformation within TACO while ensuring we provide accurate and timely tax and cost basis data and reporting. 

What you'll do:

  • Assist/lead problem solving sessions
  • Assist/lead in various aspects of form production (multiple forms), regulatory filing, and key enabling processes including cost basis, income reallocation, etc.
  • Identify regulatory changes and improvement opportunities and work with technology on requirements and testing new features
  • Help build training and transition of new processes and features to the larger TACO organization
  • Handle critical escalations (2nd level) which require additional expertise or access to resolve
  • Research and process escalated issue(s) impacting individual and large populations of accounts
  • Review and process daily controls and reports to ensure accurate tax and cost basis data
  • Escalate issues and work with critical vendors on resolution as needed
  • Assist with audits (internal & external) as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years GainsKeeper, FIS and/or other tax form related vendor management experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Highly motivated and results driven
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for service quality
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Tax Operations, Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills and ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
  • Proficient in MS Excel with proven experience working with large data sets
  • Ability to research and problem-solve

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
