Charles Schwab’s Banking Operations is responsible for risk prevention, processing of money movements, and education of policies and procedures related to money movement. We focus on maximizing operating leverage by integrating functions, increasing productivity, and gaining efficiencies to better position Schwab to compete in the marketplace and to reinvest in areas that matter most to our clients. We are currently offering the opportunity for dynamic and engaging fraud/risk professionals to join the eCrimes Surveillance team within Banking Operations to analyze and resolve account monitoring alerts generated by our variety of fraud tools and platforms. This position requires maintaining a high degree of responsibility and serves a critical role in conducting Schwab’s ongoing fraud mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with highly scrutinized and visible rules and regulations. Responsibilities include the timely investigation and resolution of potential fraud incidents to safeguard company assets and client data, ongoing surveillance for indicators of unauthorized account activity, identifying red flags for identity theft and other attempts at defrauding Charles Schwab. All work must be completed within well-defined guidelines in an environment that is fast paced and demanding. Consistency in exercising sound judgment and decision making with respect to risk and fraud issues is key. The ability to effectively manage workloads and additional daily responsibilities at a high level of competency is required. The eCrimes Surveillance Sr. Specialist will be part of a dynamic team with members in multiple locations throughout the US.

- Aptitude to analyze and comprehend complex systems, event correlation tools, and data sets
- Ability to work well under pressure, demonstrate flexibility, and stay motivated in a repetitive work environment
- Demonstrated experience and comfort making critical decisions in a time sensitive environment
- Demonstrated experience applying judgment and analysis to detect and deter suspicious activities
- Demonstrated initiative and creativity in problem solving
- Maintain knowledge of fraud red flags and industry trends in order to make informed decisions regarding client transactions
- Provide guidance to business partners on best practices related to risk
What you have

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 12 months within FCRM, Loss Prevention (or equivalent Fraud experience), or 3+ years within Schwab
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in the brokerage, bank, or fraud industries
- Strong understanding of banking and brokerage products
Preferred Qualifications:
- SQL Query skills
- FINRA Series 7 Licensing
- FINRA Series 4 Licensing
- Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS)
Strong understanding of banking and brokerage products
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze data with attention to detail and accuracy
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, database management programs, and Internet browser-based applications
