Your Opportunity
The Schwab Asset Management (SAM) Finance team provides financial analysis and strategic decision support for the SAM enterprise, which manages more than $1.8T of client assets and over $3B in revenue. SAM provides a wide variety of products ranging from money market funds, index mutual funds, actively managed mutual funds, exchange traded funds, asset allocation fund-of-funds, and managed accounts. As a provider of core investment products, SAM is both an important enabler in fulfilling Schwab’s mission of helping everyone be financially fit and a critical engine in the company’s profitability and growth.
What you’ll do
Day-to-Day responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
- Collaborate with multiple business partners across SAM to understand financial dynamics of SAM’s Core Products & Solutions (ETFs, Mutual Funds, and Collective Investment Trusts)
- Manage the monthly close process, utilizing various financial tools and interpreting results to effectively interface with business partners and leaders
- Lead various quarterly financial forecasts and year end planning process for Core Products & Solutions, Asset-Based Vendor costs, and Off-Platform NNA
- Develop and evaluate Business Cases supporting economic viability of potential new product rollouts
- Manage SAM monthly and quarterly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting process
- Primary FP&A support for Schwab Center for Financial Research (SCFR)
- Continuously improve current processes to align with business objectives and create efficiencies for the team
- Support ad hoc financial analyses in support of business and product initiatives

Required Qualifications
- 2 - 3 years of related finance experience
- Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance
- Solid understanding of Schwab’s P&L
- Proficient in excel
- Proactive, results-focused operating style
- Ability to identify issues and seek resolutions
- Efficient time management skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Strong business partnering skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Asset Management and Financial services industry experience a plus
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
