Sr Specialist, Community Relations

The Community Affairs team resides in the Corporate Affairs Group at Charles Schwab, which is responsible for managing the company's image and reputation. The Community Affairs team's work falls into three broad categories: empower Americans through financial literacy education, foster strong communities and support the work of the Charles Schwab Foundation.
Examples of our activities include:
- Inside of Schwab, we seek to educate and engage employees with news, stories and experiences that strengthen our unique Schwab culture and connects each of us to the business.
- Outside of Schwab, we seek to engage and educate media and industry influencers.
- In our communities, we leverage our people, programs, and resources to strengthen relationships and enrich lives in the communities where each of us live and work. We manage programs that help build financial literacy, encourage volunteerism, and the grants the Charles Schwab Foundation makes to our communities.
The Community Affairs team is seeking an Employee Community Engagement Sr. Specialist who will be provide cross-functional support to the full Schwab Community Affairs (SCA) team with a concentration on employee engagement and volunteerism. This role will be based in our Westlake, Texas headquarters campus.
In this role you will
- Support the creation and tactical implementation of volunteer campaigns that unite and activate employees to strengthen local communities.
- Support the activation and logistics of on-site and local community events in our corporate headquarters Westlake, Texas, location.
- Coordinate event logistics (catering, room reservations, procuring supplies) for signature SCA annual events like Schwab Volunteer Week and Season of Giving.
- Support the process of matching Schwabbies to specific volunteer opportunities to support year-round volunteerism, with a special emphasis on key national nonprofit partners.
- Oversee facilitation of feedback, reporting loops, and measurement plans for volunteer programs via email, MS Teams, MS Forms, Schwab Gives, focus groups, and one-on-one interactions.
- Support the development and utilization of volunteer resources and toolkits.
- Manage postings, trainings, and reports for our volunteer technology platform, Schwab Gives.
- Work with Schwab Community Ambassador teams in our 14 primary employment centers to support ongoing employee engagement in key programs and giving benefits. Maintain accurate rosters and Ambassador access to key tools and platforms.
- Monitor volunteer email boxes, respond to employee questions, and escalate issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Other related support as needed.

What you have
- 2 -3 years’ experience working in a fast-paced environment, coordinating complex project details, and juggling multiple priorities simultaneously
- A well-developed collaborative nature: the ability to work effectively with others toward commons goals, values effective relationships and partnering. Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to meet firm deadlines across multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong customer service mindset
- Efficiency in multi-tasking in support of a fast-paced team
- Experience in the Microsoft suite of products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Teams
- Acuity in learning and using a variety of technology platforms and systems for grant making, data gathering, reporting
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field is a plus
- Experience with volunteer, nonprofit or corporate event management is a plus
- A passion for financial literacy education is a plus
