Charles Schwab Insurance Services (CSIS) supports the insurance and annuity needs of millions of individual investors and thousands of Registered Investment Advisors. CSIS is responsible for annuity and insurance product management, distribution support, partner oversight, and the platforms and tools that enable these services.

As a Sr. Regional Annuity Specialist, you will serve as a senior subject matter expert and strategic resource for financial consultants, providing advanced knowledge and guidance on complex annuity products and solutions. Your role is to help clients achieve their retirement and income goals by positioning annuities within a broader, holistic wealth management strategy. You will work closely with Schwab’s advisors, clients, and internal partners to deepen client relationships, influence advisor adoption, and enhance Schwab’s reputation as a trusted financial institution.

Required Qualifications (skills assessed during the interview):

  • Product Expertise – The role centers on serving as a senior subject matter expert on annuity products, requiring advanced product expertise to provide credible, specialized guidance to advisors and clients on more complex planning needs. It also directly supports clients’ retirement and income goals, making it essential to frame annuity recommendations within a broader retirement strategy rather than as standalone solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – The role includes educating, coaching, and influencing financial consultants on annuity solutions, requiring the ability to transfer knowledge, build capability, and serve as an escalation point for more complex advisor or client scenarios. It also demands strong cross-functional collaboration, partnering with product development, operations, and wealth specialists to ensure solutions remain aligned, accurate, scalable, and up to date.
  • Client Relationship Management – The role requires effectively communicating complex financial concepts by simplifying product features and educating both consultants and clients, ensuring clarity in guidance across a range of client needs. It is also deeply client-centric, focused on aligning solutions to client retirement and income goals while strengthening relationships. Success depends on building trust, continuity, and advisor confidence in client interactions, enabling tailored recommendations that enhance both the client experience and advisor effectiveness.
  • Organization – The role calls for being self-motivated, highly organized, and able to independently manage multiple priorities, complex requests, and competing stakeholder needs in a fast-paced environment. This skill matters as the role spans advisor support, client engagement, product alignment, internal collaboration, and broader ownership of consistent execution across the region.

Additional Requirements

  • Active FINRA Series 6 or 7 license
  • Active FINRA Series 63 license (or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Life & Health Insurance License
    • May be obtained within the first 120 days
  • Active FINRA Series 65 or 66 license
  • Advanced degrees or certifications including CFP®, CFA®, ChFC®

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonuses or incentive opportunities.
