Schwab is recruiting a driven, results-oriented Senior, Software Development & Engineering in Test who shares our passion for technology, innovation, and excellence. Our main goal here at Schwab is to transform people’s lives by changing the way the world invests. The individual will be responsible for web application test automation, complex business rule testing, and leveraging testing best practices, processes, and tools to ensure that high-priority initiatives are delivered with high quality while collaborating with stakeholders across teams. On the Digital Onboarding team in Advisor Experience Technology, we are building new solutions to provide simple, guided digital experiences to efficiently service clients’ accounts at Schwab. We are transforming the support model by delivering robust experience and orchestration platforms to digitize transactions and workflows across business functions.
This position will be part of Advisor Services Digital Onboarding domain at Schwab, and we will focus on driving client-centricity, reducing time to market & increasing efficiency. The model is insights-driven and focuses on rapid iterations to drive innovation and transformation. What you are good at:
- Above all else you’re an engineer and a full stack tester (Data-Services-UI). You solve problems through Automation Testing. You’re curious and hungry to learn new things and look to make a long-lasting impact on the project.
- Be a hands-on advocate and leader for Test Automation across org, drive continuous integration and deployment strategies with a DevOps philosophy using GitHub stack
- Set and communicate automation strategies and processes for web services, APIs, middleware, UI etc., evaluate and implement software test automation tools and tooling standards
- Share testing best practices and strategies across teams, and influence others to adopt them
- Build automation frameworks to increase reuse and reduce effort
- Increase automation cycle execution run times and decrease manual analysis of results
- Recommend meaningful and automated dynamic reports and metrics that measure the success of automation efficiency and quality, and provide action items for continuous improvements
- Collaborate with Test Automation CoE experts to plan, design, mange, report and prioritize software test automation solutions along with Dev and QA engineers
- Testing complex systems: web applications (Angular/React), Restful APIs and data (NoSQL/SQL)
- Partner with cross-functional teams to build and refine user stories
- Collaborating across teams on testing activities, participating in requirements ambiguity assessments and use case/user story reviews, and conducting QA analysis and test support activities.
- Be a quality leader in defining quality metrics to drive application efficiency and productivity.

What you have

Required skills:
- 8+ years of strong, demonstrable hands-on application programming and/or test automation tools/ framework experience in an Agile development environment
- Experience in developing or influencing the development of automated testing framework(s) for enterprise level functional and regression testing is preferable
- Team player with excellent communication skills (oral and written) to partner technically with Application Architects, Developers, QA/Testing organizations and Business teams
- Passion for building solutions through automation, driven by innovation and commitment to lifelong learning
- Experience writing UI Automation, API Automation, and Performance testing for web applications
- Experience in the design of a scalable and maintainable automation framework and testing of RESTful Web Services.
- Experience with modern JavaScript UI frameworks like Angular and React
- Experience testing RESTful web services using test automation frameworks (Cucumber). Ability to parse nested JSON/ XML.
- Ability to prepare and execute test plans, test scenarios, test cases, data setup, bug reporting, test evaluation summary report and communication of status/metrics.
- Experience in Selenium IDE and WebDriver, SauceLabs, Javascript, C#, Java programming and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Experience with CI /CD tools like Jenkins, Zephyr, GitHub, Splunk is a plus.
- Experience with Agile Methodologies and Atlassian toolset (Jira, Confluence, Zephyr Tests)
- Ability to effectively persuade, negotiate and influence all levels of staff; excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills
- Motivation and passion to stay on top of new and emerging test and automation technologies and able to provide direction to test team
Preferred skills:
- Experience with .NET core, Angular, MongoDB, SQL Server, PCF, GitHub is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or similar area of study
- Financial Services experience is a strong plus
