The SAM Finance team provides financial analysis and strategic decision support for Schwab’s Asset Management enterprise, which manages more than $1.8T of client assets and over $3B in revenue. The Senior Manager, SAM Finance will lead key forecasting, planning, reporting, and business case activities while managing and developing a team of two finance professionals. Success in this role requires strong analytical capabilities, exceptional business partnership skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and a passion for coaching and developing talent.
While this role will involve some reporting and process building/improvement, its heavily weighted towards creating insights for the business, informing the Central Planning process, and developing people. The right candidate for this role brings not only a wealth of expertise in Finance, but will also bring a curiosity and capacity to learn about the Asset Management business, which is an exciting and fast-growing area of the company.
What You’ll Do
- Lead annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and monthly reporting processes for SAM enterprise, including both expense and product revenue components
- Analyze business performance, identify key trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide insights and decision support.
- Manage two direct reports, establishing clear objectives and development plans, and providing coaching on performance to accelerate their professional growth. Review work to ensure quality and accuracy while driving increased ownership and independence
- Develop and review financial models, scenario analyses, and long-range forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate independently with partners in SAM and across various Finance groups to simplify and improve processes and reduce risk, while breaking down any barriers to communication and/or execution
- Prepare executive-level presentations with clear and focused messaging articulating financial results, forecasts, risks, and opportunities. Present directly to Sr. Leadership
- Drive engagement forward both within SAM Finance team and across Enterprise Finance/Corp Planning through daily modeling of strong leadership behavior
What you have

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, strategic finance, or related financial analysis roles
- Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships across management levels and communicate complex financial concepts to senior audiences.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience working with large datasets and multiple data sources.
- Experience effectively managing several workstreams/projects concurrently and independently
- Ability to drive strong engagement among team members and colleagues is essential
Preferred Qualifications
- Financial services industry experience preferred.
