The Operational Services Finance team provides financial analysis and strategic decision support for Schwab’s Operational Services enterprise. The team helps business partners drive operational leverage and scale by delivering rigorous analysis, enterprise-level insights, and clear performance reporting.
This Senior Manager role is a close strategic business advisor and partner to Custody & Asset Services (CAS) and the Operations Transformation Organization (OTO). The role also leads consolidation for Operational Services Finance, as well as scale and efficiency decision support and reporting. As a senior individual contributor, the role provides financial oversight and decision support through close business partnership, risk identification, strategic solution evaluation and financial planning and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Operational Services Finance consolidation for month-end close, quarterly financial forecasts, and annual planning, as well as analysis, decision support and reporting for scale and efficiency initiatives. Coordinate across the team to maintain clear lines of communication and accurate reporting of financial results.
- Manage financial planning and analysis for the CAS and OTO. Manage month-end close, conduct variance analyses, identify risks & opportunities, prepare quarterly financial forecasts and annual plans, and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Partner closely with Operational Services business leaders to understand business drivers and identify business performance trends to provide actional insights.
- Lead ad hoc analytical projects and collaborate across functions to shape recommendations and deliver outcomes. Partner across teams to develop business cases, build financial models, and evaluate opportunities in support of Schwab’s strategic initiatives and priorities.
- Foster growth and development of finance peers, helping to create a high-performing and engaged team
What you have
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
- 7+ years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis
- Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to build strong relationships across management levels and communicate complex financial concepts to senior audiences.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience with ERP software or similar tools such as IBM Planning Analytics.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with proven ability to identify and solve issues/challenges
- Proactive self-starter and team player who can work independently in a challenging and fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
- Demonstrate sound business judgement, strategic thinking, and ability to deal with ambiguity
- Ability to drive strong engagement among team members and colleagues is essential
- MBA or equivalent graduate degree preferred
- Financial services industry experience preferred.
